The Accidental Creative
The Accidental Creative: How to Be Brilliant at a Moment's Notice | Todd Henry
3 posts | 7 read | 4 to read
Have better ideas, faster, without the stress and burnout. It isn't enough to just do your job anymore. In order to thrive in today's marketplace, all of us-even the accountants-have to be ready to generate brilliant ideas on demand. Business creativity expert Todd Henry explains how to establish effective practices that unleash your creative potential. Born out of his consultancy and his popular podcast, Henry has created a practical method for discovering your personal creative rhythm. He focuses on five key elements: *Focus: Begin with your end goal in mind. *Relationships: Build stimulating relationships and ideas will follow. *Energy: Manage it as your most valuable resource. *Stimuli: Structure the right "inputs" to maximize creative output. *Hours: Focus on effectiveness, not efficiency. This is a guide for staying inspired and experiencing greater creative productivity than you ever imagined possible.

In May I stumbled with IF for 10 days😞 And I didn‘t improve with wearing my ankle weights. So I‘m trying something different for my June #BFC2022 goals. Each activity above = 1 pt. I‘ll be using a habit tracker for my daily score. My goal = score a daily average of 8 for the month.

I downloaded this planner from Heart Breathings and I like her set up, which includes this process. Looks like she was inspired by tagged book, which I loved reading.

wanderinglynn Way to refocus and adapt your goals. 🙌🏻 I like the layout too. 2y

The weather in HK has been perfect. Spring is finally here! Didn‘t get much reading done with the back to back meetings and entertaining, but I have been contemplating some of the concepts raised in this book - specifically ‘ The Big 3‘- which refers to the 3 things I need to gain creative traction on in both work and personal life!

BarbaraTheBibliophage Welcome to Litsy! That sounds like an interesting read. And that building on the left is ... wow! 6y
iggyreads @BarbaraTheBibliophage I love the juxtaposition of the old vs new collision (of architectures etc) in Hong Kong! There‘s so much character to it! Thanks for the warm welcome! 6y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @iggyreads You‘re welcome! It‘s fun to travel and read vicariously through our fellow Littens. 🙌🏻🧡💚 6y

As much as I complain about the work travels, I like the solace of having time alone to think and reflect. This year my aim is reflect deeper on the areas of my life that I want to see changes or improvements in. A close friend in HK recommended this book to me, and it‘s rather apt for me to bring it along to read on my flight to #hongkong and possibly share some snippets with her when we meet for breakfast next week!

BarbaraJean I was wary of traveling alone for a long time, and then when I had to, I realized how wonderful it is to have the space for reflection in a new place! This sounds like such a great book for reflection. 😊 6y
