I like this series for the potrayal of its characters as much as for the food tour of India. The mystery in this was approached from 2 angles - one from Puri's and the other from his always delightful mummy-ji. This book highlighted a part of Partition history which I had no knowledge of - which were the Indian women who saved the abductees from across the newly created border.

The stories (A and B) intertwined perfectly together. Past and present merged. Vish Puri takes us into the belly of Delhi and we get a tiny piece of how life goes and how past history still has a hold on every day life. What I liked most about this third novel is that it taught me things I had no idea about, Partition history, and made me want to read more about it.

A really fun mystery series set in India. Vish Puri fancies himself as the Indian Holmes. #seasonreadings2016 #silhouettesoncovers

This series is so fun. I adore mysteries set in other countries. This has enough interesting characters and cultural details to make it stand out. After spending a week vacation with a group of friends and not getting any time to read a single book, I needed to jump start my TBR again. This was a quick and fun one to get me back in track. I am planning to be a shut in this weekend to catch back up. And I can't wait!

Love this series when I'm in the mood for an easy, cozy mystery. Love the Indian setting (Delhi) and the characters. This particular one delves a bit into more serious topics like the history of violence during Partition between India/Pakistan, but the overall vibe of the series is generally fun and lighthearted.

RealLifeReading I've just started on the first book! So interesting! 8y
