Hollowpox: The Hunt for Morrigan Crow
Hollowpox: The Hunt for Morrigan Crow | Jessica Townsend
13 posts | 11 read | 7 to read
The captivating and heart-pounding third book in the instant New York Times bestselling Nevermoor series, as heroine Morrigan battles a new evil. Morrigan Crow and her friends have survived their first year as proud scholars of the elite Wundrous Society, helped bring down the nefarious Ghastly Market, and proven themselves loyal to Unit 919. Now Morrigan faces a new, exciting challenge: to master the mysterious Wretched Arts of the Accomplished Wundersmith, and control the power that threatens to consume her. Meanwhile, a strange and frightening illness has taken hold of Nevermoor, turning infected Wunimals into mindless, vicious Unnimals on the hunt. As victims of the Hollowpox multiply, panic spreads. There are whispers - growing louder every day - that this catastrophe can only be the work of the Wundersmith, Ezra Squall. But inside the walls of Wunsoc, everyone knows there is a new Wundersmith - one who's much closer to home. With Nevermoor in a state of fear and the truth about Morrigan threatening to get out, the city she loves becomes the most perilous place in the world. Morrigan must try to find a cure for the Hollowpox, but it will put her - and everyone in Nevermoor - in more danger than she could have imagined.

So even though they are 13 and 16, my boys and I still read a chapter or two a night of a book together most nights. I just finished reading this one to them and we are ALL loving this series. This one is an excellent addition and moves the story of Mog along well. Can't wait for book 4!

I love this series and these characters soooo much! Things definitely got a little darker in this book, but it was still excellent. I want my own Magnificat! 😻😻😻

This series is SO good! This book reveals a bit more about its world, and I enjoyed seeing more of that history through Morrigan‘s eyes as she learns about the past and grows in her abilities. It did hit a little close to home, with maybe a few too many parallels to current events, handling themes like bigotry, protests, a pandemic, and political machinations. Even so, the world of Nevermoor is just as clever and witty and delightful as before!

#MorriganCrow is a worthy successor to #HarryPotter — if you love Harry, you will adore Mog! The audiobooks are terrific too (and as far as I can tell, the author is not transphobic). Highly recommended!

“Who cares what some numpty thinks?”

“The thing about numpties, Mog, is that they can always find plenty of other numpties to believe their numpty nonsense. You know what they say: You‘re never more than six feet away from a numpty.”

This morning, my plan was to make some tea, curl up on the couch, watch the rain, and escape from the news with this much-anticipated newly-arrived library hold. But with the election results, now I don‘t have to escape, I can just thoroughly enjoy. 🎉👏🏼🇺🇸 Breathing a sigh of relief today!!

Jessica Townsend did a cover reveal for Hollowpox today! 🤗😍😍🤗

I'm so flipping excited. I absolutely loved Nevermoor and Wundersmith and own both the US and UK editions for both of them and you better believe I will be buying both editions for Hollowpox as well.

If you're into middlegrade books and haven't checked this series out yet I highly recommend them! 👍

AnneCecilie I‘m getting this as soon as I can get hold of it. Can‘t wait to read about Morrigan‘s next adventure. 5y
Branwen I'm in the middle of Wundersmith right now and just can't get over how fantastic this series is! 😍 5y
GrilledCheeseSamurai @AnneCecilie @Branwen I was completely taken by surprise with how much hype I have for this series. I have a feeling, when it's all done, this will be Harry Potter level of love for me. Hell...it already pretty much is. 🤷‍♂️🤩 5y
