At the beginning of today it definitely did not register with me that this was a #24b4Monday read-a-thon weekend!!
In fact, I think I finished this book cover to cover today and didn‘t even realize I was logging hours until it was complete.
My goal for the weekend isn‘t going to be in hours, but rather to finish one more book to complete my 2019 Goodreads Reading Challenge!!
Local library summer reading challenge? ✔️

I wanted to absolutely love this one because Jeff is the pastor @ the church I attend & I‘ve gleaned so much spiritual wisdom from his other books.
I applaud the plain language most of this book is written with, it‘s an easy & quick read, aside from some Christianity based history within the pages.
I can appreciate the overarching message & it had some quotable moments I made sure not to forget to save, overall it was just “Meh!” for me.
It is from a conscious decision to live out of our new identity, our sense of belonging, that true life-change is possible.
For the Christian, the issue of identity cannot be overestimated, for it is new identity that propels new behavior. Embracing our new identity has the power to draw us into a new and compelling narrative.
In dark times we may learn to love God for himself and not simply for his gifts. He‘s with you even when you get emptied out. He is with you and he is enough. He will never leave you. He will never forsake you.
Fixating on blessings withheld may cause you to despise the marvelous blessings you possess.
Comparison is a destroyer. It can easily kill off growing faith. Trust is the glue that holds any relationship together, and if you fundamentally distrust God‘s goodness, it is highly unlikely that you will follow his leadership in your life. After all, why would you follow someone who is unfair to you?
One of the greatest challenges to contentment is when we are waiting for a situation to change.
The school of contentment leads the heart to find deep peace and thanksgiving, fullness, and rest, even when traveling through an unwanted detour.
Contentment is being fully alive whatever out situation.
