This was a little darker than I was expecting but I found the world intriguing as well as the characters. The goat was as excellent a character as advertised and I hope to see more of her in future installments. All in all I found this to be a great read with an interesting world that makes you work a little to figure out just how it works but well worth it. This was my second #CalibreRoulette pick of the month.

Loved this one. It's self contained but the first in a trilogy (I haven't read the others).

Beautifully written...and did I mention there's a goat (he steals the story).

Finally caved in and got The Vagrant as well, the story just sounds really interesting and I have been fighting with myself on getting it and finally just figured the more I thought about it the more I really wanted it! Let‘s hope it‘s good!

There's almost a cadence to Peter Newman's writing. It's definitely a fantasy story but it sometimes feel as if it has slipped into a poem or sonnet of sorts. There is most certainly a rythem to the writing that sets it apart from alot of other novels in the speculative fiction genre and that, I believe, makes it something special.

The Vagrant by Peter Newman is a great book. It's set in an apocalyptic fantasy world. It has an unique twist to the apocalypse. It's also the first book of a trilogy.

This was an excellent read. The main character is mute and on a quest to return an object of import to the Seven. His companions are a baby and a goat. Newman tells this tale through glimpses into the recent past and through commentary by a newer companion, Harm. I read this in one sitting as I literally could not stop reading.

Really enjoying this audiobook. Both the story and the narration are great.
