London in the 1890s; amid the fog, the noise and bustle a three-masted ship arrives in the docks. At the rail is Alberto Pelucci, an immigrant from Italy, dreaming of romance and adventure. HEARTS AND FARTHINGS is the heartwarming, moving saga of a man torn between two women, and of children born in the last, bittersweet days before the First World War. . . .

My last June book is done…

Hist-fic about an Italian immigrant to England in late Victorian era➡️WWI. Not badly written, and at first I liked the mc a lot, but I grew to loathe him. 😬

Having read the whole thing, I have no clue who the woman on the cover is supposed to be, which is annoying.

This was my #MakeYourOwnPrompt book for #Booked2022, and the prompt I made was ‘oldest NetGalley to read. I‘ve had it for almost 3 years. 😂

⭐️⭐️1/2

Clare-Dragonfly Wow… neither your cover nor the one Litsy has for the listing give any indication that this book is about a man. 😂 2y
sprainedbrain @Clare-Dragonfly I‘m still scratching my head. 😅 2y

Pickpick

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the digital copy.

First time I have read this author. This is a series and the book is a bit look. The characters are well developed and grow throughout the book.
