Whisper Network Sneak Peek
Whisper Network Sneak Peek | Chandler Baker
20 posts | 3 read | 5 to read
Exciting and sprinkled with razor-sharp insights about what it is to be a woman today, Whisper Network is a witty and timely story that will make you cheer for sisterhood. Liv Constantine, USA Today bestselling author of The Last Mrs. Parrish If only youd listened to us, none of this would have happened. Sloane, Ardie, Grace, and Rosalita have worked at Truviv, Inc. for years. The sudden death of Truvivs CEO means their boss, Ames, will likely take over the entire company. Each of the women has a different relationship with Ames, who has always been surrounded by whispers about how he treats women. Those whispers have been ignored, swept under the rug, hidden away by those in charge. But the world has changed, and the women are watching this promotion differently. This time, when they find out Ames is making an inappropriate move on a colleague, they arent willing to let it go. This time, theyve decided enough is enough. Sloane and her colleagues decision to take a stand sets in motion a catastrophic shift in the office. Lies will be uncovered. Secrets will be exposed. And not everyone will survive. All of their livesas women, colleagues, mothers, wives, friends, even adversarieswill change dramatically as a result. "If only you had listened to us, they tell us on page one, none of this would have happened." Don't be fooled by its title. Whisper Network is a primal roar of a novel. Furiously funny and just plain furious, it's as timely as today's headlines and as big-hearted as your best work friend. A fantastic read. Riley Sager, New York Times bestselling author of The Last Time I Lied Whisper Network manages to be provocative, timely, and a ripping good read: A murder mystery and a manifesto all rolled up into one. I couldnt put it down. Janelle Brown, New York Times bestselling author of Watch Me Disappear

#BOTMBUDDYREAD FINAL THOUGHTS

What do you think is going on ??

Librarybelle Whatever is going on is big! While I do not mind the formatting of the book, I‘m slowly becoming accustomed to the narrative. So-so read for me so far, but I‘m interested so will keep reading. As more pieces come into place, I think my interest will pique more. 4y
OriginalCyn620 I need to know what‘s going on!! I‘m very interested and can‘t wait to find out! 4y
mollyrotondo I already know but I‘m having fun rereading/listening while working during the week because I‘m picking up on things that I didn‘t the first time around 4y
See All 11 Comments
TheBookHippie @mollyrotondo that‘s always fun on a reread! I‘ve had that happen too. Glad you‘re with us for this. 4y
mollyrotondo @TheBookHippie thank you! I‘m loving these discussion questions and hearing everyone‘s thoughts since I wasn‘t able to discuss this with friends the first time around 😄 4y
JaclynW Full disclosure: I just finished the book today. 😳 My library loan was ending and I didn't think I'd get it back. (Online loan.) It was definitely a page turner, I really liked it and I'm excited to discuss it with everyone. This topic is a hot one. I can't wait for more discussion. 4y
TheBookHippie @JaclynW no worries ! We‘re just happy you can join in! 4y
KarouBlue It‘s a meh so far for me, mainly because all the characters are horrid! So much negativity conglomerated in one place. 4y
JaclynW @TheBookHippie I wouldn't miss it!💕 4y
Soubhiville I‘m with @MellieAntoinette , I‘d rate it so-so at this point, I hope it gets better. I‘m also not fond of any of the characters so far. 4y
Hooked_on_books I loved this book and look forward to see what everyone thinks at the end. If a book has a compelling story, I don‘t have to like any of the characters to enjoy it, though I know that doesn‘t work for everyone. 4y

What did you think of Sloane approaching Ames in the bathroom?

Librarybelle It might have been impulsive, but it also shows a level of power, I think. Approaching Ames in a vulnerable situation to address a veiled threat of sorts. I wouldn‘t have the guts to do it, for sure! 4y
OriginalCyn620 Even though it wasn‘t thought through, it was probably better than confronting him say, in his office, where he has all the power. And at least Ames knows that she‘s on to him. Not that he probably cares, but still... 4y
TheBookHippie @Librarybelle I think it‘s a power play too. Good call about hitting him in a vulnerable place, she‘s got some chutzpah that‘s for sure! 4y
See All 7 Comments
TheBookHippie @OriginalCyn620 ....not that he cares 🤦🏽‍♀️ he is something 🤢🤬 4y
mollyrotondo Yeah it was her best option of cornering him. He needs to be made even just a little bit vulnerable. But you ladies are right, he doesn‘t care. 4y
JaclynW I loved this part. For all reasons stated above. 4y
KarouBlue Awkward!!! And then she runs into his wife! (edited) 4y

Rosalita ...what is her story do you think ?

Librarybelle She‘s tied into whatever happens...I‘m definitely interested in knowing more about her! 4y
OriginalCyn620 Still don‘t know what to make of her, but I‘m intrigued as to why she hired Ardie, and how she ties into the whole story. 4y
mollyrotondo I have already read this so I won‘t give anything away. But I like this little bit of a swing in the story. 4y

JaclynW Oh man! She has a lot to say I think. At first I almost dismissed her character. But the more she keeps getting brought up, the more I think she knows something. 4y
KarouBlue She also has first hand eyes on all the scenes!! 👀 4y
Soubhiville I‘m sorry expecting her to be an important character later. 4y

What do you think of little Abigails situation at school and the principals response?
Sexual harassment ?

Librarybelle It disgusts me, honestly. A good case of bullying. 4y
OriginalCyn620 Good example of the double standard. Why aren‘t the parents of the boys in the principals office? Why aren‘t they being told to knock off the stupid games? I actually wanted Sloane or Ardie to physically strike the principal, both for the little smile and for basically telling them that Abigail should be flattered because it meant the boys think she‘s pretty. These are the kinds of assclowns running our schools, people! I‘ve seen it! 4y
TheBookHippie @OriginalCyn620 me too EVERY DAY!!! Ughh 4y

TheBookHippie @Librarybelle Seriously: bullying and harassment ugh makes me sick. 4y
mollyrotondo This part made me so angry! This is one of the reasons boys grow up thinking it‘s okay to disrespect women. It starts early, people! 4y
JaclynW @OriginalCyn620 Double standard indeed! This part makes me cringe! 😬 It is ALL too familiar. THIS HAS GOT TO STOP!!! 😡 4y

Grace‘s feelings about her baby and motherhood, more common than we know?
Why is it so forbidden to say, to ask for help?

Once again in a book we read..

Librarybelle I‘m not a mother, so cannot speak fully. But, I think there is a struggle, kind of like the struggle to look good and thin and perky. There‘s an expectation. If you fall short, you feel like a failure. 4y
AmyG @Librarybelle Yep. Where my kids grew up, everyone had their “public face” on. So many Moms would act as if all was perfect. You feel like a failure because you feel you‘d be percieved as one. It‘s so sad. 4y
OriginalCyn620 I personally didn‘t have those struggles, but I think it‘s common, even if we don‘t hear much about it. There‘s pressure to be a perfect mom, from our loved ones and society, so I can imagine if you don‘t even feel connected to your baby, you might be ashamed to ask for help. I think we all go into our pregnancies thinking that we‘ll automatically bond with and love our babies, that it‘s a given. But 👇🏻 4y
See All 8 Comments
OriginalCyn620 what if it doesn‘t? That must be a devastating thing to feel, and can make it even harder to ask for help. 4y
mollyrotondo Again the issue of expectations women think they have to live up to. It‘s okay for a mother to need a little break. That‘s why a father needs to be on equal ground with the mother so the responsibility is balanced. Women are human. We do not have to be “perfect.” 4y
JaclynW @Librarybelle @amyg @OriginalCyn620 @mollyrotondo There's definitely a reason why so many books talk about postpartum depression. It happens. A lot. I'm pretty sure I've shared bits of my own struggles in regards to this before with you. It was awful. What I discovered is the more I talked about my own experience, the more people shared their story with me. And wow. Was I surprised. We suffer in silence for no reason. 😢😭💔 4y
Soubhiville While I feel bad for her, I was mad at the way she handled it. Communication is so important. 4y

What do you think of all the secrets ?

Librarybelle It seeks typical of any workplace. Even in the library - I‘m still astounded by the gossip and secrets coworkers and colleagues swap! 4y
OriginalCyn620 Anytime there‘s a group of people, there‘s gonna be secrets, gossip, etc. I wonder if they‘ll all come out in the open by the end! 4y
See All 12 Comments
mollyrotondo Every workplace has gossip and secrets. It‘s like high school sometimes 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620 especially women 🤣🤣 4y
Soubhiville I was expecting secrets with the title. But I really don‘t like rumor mills. I try to avoid getting wrapped up in that muck in real life. 4y
Hooked_on_books @mollyrotondo Totally like high school! I run my own business now, but my previous job was at a small hospital in a small town and it was such a high school! 🙄 It seems like many people never grow up, sadly. 4y
mollyrotondo @Hooked_on_books yeah I feel like my high school wasn‘t as juvenile as my workplace is now. You are right that no one grows up 4y

What do you think of Katherine ?

OriginalCyn620 IDK yet. Right now, I‘m most interested in why she was fired from her previous job and if it ties into the story. It has to, right? 4y
Librarybelle Definitely not enough info yet for me to form an opinion. But, she‘s hiding something. If that memo we saw was any indication, there‘s a story there... 4y
mollyrotondo She just seems like a dopey young person to me. She‘s not my favorite part of the story 4y

Ardie paints a picture of divorce is it an acurrate portrayal ? How does this feed into her narrative ?

OriginalCyn620 I‘m not divorced but it‘s probably pretty accurate. When children are involved, it‘s more complicated, I know, or at least it can be. But like every marriage is different, probably so is every divorce. 4y
Librarybelle I cannot speak from experience, but I would imagine everyone goes through the “grieving” process differently. Much like this current situation the world faces - we‘re all grieving in our own way, and the stress will affect us differently, either as we‘re going through this or after the danger has passed. 4y
mollyrotondo I thought it was pretty accurate especially for a woman. I would imagine it is harder to move on especially if you had a child with someone 4y
See All 6 Comments
AmyG Yes. @Librarybelle I, too, assume there is a grieving process. 4y
JaclynW @OriginalCyn620 @Librarybelle @mollyrotondo @amyg I've never experienced divorce myself but have seen it with close friends and family. The above statements seem to be pretty accurate. Divorce is really difficult. It is definitely an adjustment period. 4y
Hooked_on_books I went through my parents‘s (necessary) divorce and I totally think there‘s a grieving process associated. And it‘s important for people to allow themselves to go through it. 4y

What did you think of the perfect man list of attributes? Is that truly a perfect man? For who ?

OriginalCyn620 It was a pretty good list! But every woman has to decide what she wants and what her own dealbreakers are. No one is perfect, everyone has to find the perfect person for them. Personally, if you smoke and are under six feet tall, keep walking! But that‘s me, and we all like different things and can/will tolerate different things. 4y
Librarybelle Agreed, @OriginalCyn620 . We all like different things. Having someone too perfect is a turn off for me. Everyone has their own tastes. 4y
mollyrotondo Bleh I hated most of the things on this list. But we all have different tastes so to each her own 4y
See All 11 Comments
AmyG Hahaha. There is no perfect. But like you all said, find a man/woman/person who suits your tastes. 4y
TheBookHippie @mollyrotondo Same! I apparently am waaaay different from the “norm” 4y
mollyrotondo @TheBookHippie I‘m the same way. I definitely do not adhere to the “norm” on these things 4y
JaclynW Hahaha! This makes me laugh so much! "Perfect" is definitely different for each of us. @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Hooked_on_books @Librarybelle @OriginalCyn620 @mollyrotondo @amyg @TheBookHippie Growing up, I had a list like this...my husband fits very few of that original list. I'm SO glad! He is perfect for me. ❤ 4y
mollyrotondo @JaclynW aww that is really wonderful! See sometimes our idea of perfect isn‘t even what is actually right for us in reality 🙃 4y

Spreadsheet BAD MEN what do you think of it?
How many of these do you think exist in the world? How many stories are there really? Would you warn other women?

OriginalCyn620 Okay, this is tough. On the one hand, you can‘t believe everything you read. The spreadsheet can be added to by anyone anytime, so I just wonder if it‘s ALL true. To be fair, women can lie just as easily as men. On the other hand, these women are using it as an anonymous tool to help each other, and I imagine it‘s because it‘s extremely hard to get justice through the proper channels. 👇🏻 4y
OriginalCyn620 So, yes, I would warn other women. Better safe than sorry! And if something like this doesn‘t exist in the real world, it should! 4y
Librarybelle Exactly, @OriginalCyn620 ! I don‘t think you can believe everything - someone with sour grapes, for instance, can make up a bunch of stuff. But, as a tool for fair warning, it‘s a good start. And yes, there are sites out there that you can make note not to date certain guys and why. 4y
See All 30 Comments
mollyrotondo I think the spreadsheet is a good idea but I agree with @OriginalCyn620 that anyone can add to it and lie on it so it can be dangerous. It should not be the only way these women report men‘s harassment toward women. Formal complaints hold more weight. But I do think it‘s a good tool to help other women steer clear of men with whom they work. 4y
mollyrotondo Oh wow @Librarybelle I had no idea there were sites that warn women about certain guys on dating apps. That‘s something to look into. 4y
AmyG Agree with you all. With keeping doubt in mind, at least you can be aware, keep an eye out for those traits in the men you have to deal with. 4y
Librarybelle @mollyrotondo Not sure if it is still active or if there is a fee (I‘ve never investigated), but Don‘t Date Him Girl debuted roughly 10 years ago and at one point offered a list of guys not to date, based on ex-girlfriends posts. 4y
mollyrotondo @Librarybelle very interesting 🤔 thanks for that! 4y
JaclynW @Librarybelle Wow. I didn't know such a thing existed. I do think it could be a great idea. But as @OriginalCyn620 said...people could lie for various reasons and unfairly hurt someone. Why can't people just be honest? And decent? And just report to proper channels-->that actually DID something about it. Sigh. #inmydreams? @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Hooked_on_books @OriginalCyn620 @mollyrotondo @amyg @thebookhippie 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @mollyrotondo I didn‘t either!!! 😳😳 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @JaclynW I didn‘t either!!! Same reason people can‘t stay at home during a pandemic 🤦🏼‍♀️ 4y
mollyrotondo @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks it‘s crazy, right?! But girls looking out for other girls is a positive thing 4y
mollyrotondo @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks oh my gosh! The park was filled by my house yesterday. I mean no wonder my state has a higher number of cases than they ever predicted. People!! 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @mollyrotondo which state are you in? Are y‘all under a shelter in place order? I‘m in Mississippi and our governor was about 3 weeks late with the order 🙄 people are still out because who‘s going to enforce it?! I don‘t get it! 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @mollyrotondo definitely 👯‍♀️ 4y
mollyrotondo @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I‘m in Jersey. We are only under a state of emergency and a stay at home order. Only essential workers should be on the road but it seems as if every business around me is considered an essential business because there are a lot of people on the roads and a lot of offices open. I understand how you feel. All of these gov officials are way too late on even these minuscule steps 4y
Soubhiville When I have come across dangerous men, I have tried very hard to warn women about them. I‘ve never seen a list like the one in this book, but I bet they‘re out there. 4y
TheBookHippie @Soubhiville when I was in clinicals for nursing there was a list of doctors to NEVER BE ALONE with passed down by other students ...that was 1984 so I think there has been lists in every type of environment as long as men have had power over women in a job ill bet. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤯 4y
TheBookHippie @mollyrotondo I‘m entering week FIVE 🤯 Michigan 4y
mollyrotondo @TheBookHippie uhh five weeks! I will admit I‘m losing track of the days. I‘ve been home from work since March 13th and got my work from home materials handed off to me by my supervisor on March 17. So I guess I‘m going into week four of being home 4y
TheBookHippie @mollyrotondo yup we are a week ahead of you... I am losing track as well. I still think it‘s March🤣 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @mollyrotondo I‘m essential so I‘ll be working which I‘m great with. I work in our transfer center for our hospital... I go straight to work and only to the store if necessary (with gloves and masks!) 4y
mollyrotondo @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks please stay safe! I am grateful I can work from home because my office is open as well. But they are strongly encouraging everyone to just work from home so that‘s what I‘ll be doing until this is over. 4y
JaclynW @TheBookHippie Those lists hopefully saved women from being abused. It's nice to see women trying to look out for each other. 4y
JaclynW @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Stay safe at work! 💕 I'm sewing masks for my family this week. Although we aren't really going anywhere except occasionally to the store (and usually that's just me going) to wear them too. I guess it's just in case. @TheBookHippie @mollyrotondo We've been home since March 13th. I'm totally losing track of days too. 4y
mollyrotondo @JaclynW uh I know. I cannot remember what happened on what day (not that a lot has happened but still) 4y
JaclynW @mollyrotondo Yep! I'm feeling that too! It's so crazy. I feel like I'm trapped in a Twilight Zone. 🥴😳😬🤣 4y

Is Ames typical in the work world? What do you think of him? What do you think of his wife ?

OriginalCyn620 I can‘t speak to the workplace part since I‘ve been a stay at home mom for so long, but I‘m sure there are many Ames out there! It‘s probably even commonplace. As for Bobbi, I‘m still trying to get a handle on her. Is she really clueless, or is she just playing it that way? I kinda hope it‘s an act! 4y
mollyrotondo Uh he is such a typical man in power. He thinks he can “have it all” as far as a wife, kid, and girl-on-the-side and thinks everything is a-okay. His idea of himself is so highly inflated that he thinks people (especially women) should be grateful to him 4y
mollyrotondo I think his wife, Bobbi, plays ignorant but probably knows Ames isn‘t the perfect husband. But she‘s greedy in her own way and would never give up the lifestyle she has within this marriage 4y
See All 7 Comments
Librarybelle I‘m afraid there are more guys like Ames out there, rather than him being a minority. I‘ve worked around some - not to his high degree, but still. I‘ve also seen some women behave like that too...the feeling of entitlement, not necessarily the behavior of getting on a “BAD” list. I‘d like to know more about Bobbi before I reach an opinion. I can say that something doesn‘t add up for me with her. I‘m curious how this progresses. 4y
JaclynW @OriginalCyn620 Bobbi does seem clueless. Maybe it is ignorance. @mollyrotondo I'm afraid the number is high. I WANT to believe people are decent and I DON'T want to unfairly blanket every man in the "scumbag" /typical male stereotype....but I am very wary of men and my high alert self is always turned up to full capacity when men are around. It takes a lot for a man to impress me and for me to trust them. I do know a few good men. @Librarybelle 4y
Soubhiville I‘m lucky in that my field of work tends to draw men who are not power hungry or in my experience womanizers. (Animal welfare/ veterinary medicine). I‘d like to believe there are more good men out there then bad, but honestly I don‘t know. The media certainly portrays a lot of creeps in the corporate world. 4y
Hooked_on_books I wouldn‘t say he‘s typical, but definitely all too common. We as a society have allowed these men to behave this way for far too long and they will continue to do so until we are consistent about not permitting it. 4y

What do you think of Sloane?

OriginalCyn620 I like her so far. She‘s obviously a strong and smart woman, even though we know she‘s made at least one huge mistake. I mean, no one is perfect! I do like that she‘s concerned about Katherine and is trying to look out for her, even though they don‘t know each other well. 4y
mollyrotondo I find her to be a bit of a pain but I like her at the same time. I listened ahead so I don‘t want to spoil anything but did this section have the scene with her and her daughter at the school? 4y

“ Women can‘t be real friends unless they were willing to talk shit together” Sloane says..true?

AmyG What‘s talking shit? If you can be honest with someone, trust them if you do “talk shit” (that they won‘t tell)...then yes....it makes for a better friend. And if you find one of those- ha, hold on tight! 4y
OriginalCyn620 That‘s a good question @AmyG! Trust plays a big role in friendship, and part of friendship is being able to freely vent to one another. We all need people we can unload on, confess to, and confide in! To me, “talking shit” isn‘t just about badmouthing others, it‘s more about getting things off my chest. So, yeah, I think it‘s true. 4y
mollyrotondo I think a good friend is definitely someone you can shoot the shit with haha you should be able to talk about anything with a true friend including talking shit about whatever‘s going on 4y
See All 6 Comments
Librarybelle @AmyG @OriginalCyn620 I agree - trust has to be there. Honestly, I get rather uncomfortable with cattiness or conversations that are pointedly all negative. I‘m not a gossip. Just speak the truth. I‘d rather have friendships based on trust, with the willingness of a friend to listen to me while I vent (or vice versa) than be completely mean girl or vicious. 4y
Soubhiville Trust is very important for good friendships! That includes venting to each other as well as sharing your best times, and knowing that if one of you needs help you can always rely on each other. 4y

Is it possible to do it all? As a woman ? Or is someone/something always suffering? Is it a lie women have been told?

Actual article pictured

https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2012/07/why-women-still-cant-have-i...

AmyG I don‘t think you can do it all....well. Put it that way. When I worked full time, when my kids were in elementary and middle school, something always had to give. I used to think of it as triage. What needed to get done the most- got done. (edited) 4y
mollyrotondo I think women put too much pressure on themselves to have everything that society things they should have. I don‘t think we should have to sacrifice things that what want but I do think women need to really ask themselves what do they truly want and stick with it instead of letting the societal expectations dictate our choices. Men also need to be raised to be equal partners to women instead of putting the responsibility on women in the family 4y
OriginalCyn620 I don‘t think anyone - man or woman- can have it all. Like @AmyG said, something would have to give. But everyone should be able to make their own choices, regardless of what society or anyone else says, and they certainly shouldn‘t have to constantly defend their choices to others. Every person and every family has to find what works best. We‘re all different and there‘s no one “right” way to do things and no “right” choices. 4y
See All 15 Comments
Librarybelle It‘s a very hard balance. I‘m not a mother or a wife, so I cannot speak from personal experience. But, I know young mothers who have sacrificed in order to advance or have a career or to even work. Having said that, @OriginalCyn620 is right that there are no “right” choices. Everyone has to do what works for them. 4y
Hooked_on_books I really think it depends on the definition of “having it all.” If it‘s having the “perfect” career and doing everything right as a parent and spouse, that‘s the lie women have been told, as no person can do that. But I think that‘s the very reason for the lie—to shame women out of working and keep them at home. It‘s a tragic attempt to control that just damages mental health for many. 4y
TheBookHippie @Hooked_on_books I so agree I‘ve been both and shamed both times 🤷🏽‍♀️🤬🤯 just boggles the mind. 4y
Soubhiville I agree with everyone here, in that I think it would be extremely difficult to try to have a high intensity career and children and keep a good balance between the two in a healthy way. But also, everyone deserves to make those choices for themselves. And I think that is true for dads too- you can‘t work 60 hours a week and have an impactful relationship with your kids. 4y
JaclynW @OriginalCyn620 You took the words out of my mouth! I completely agree to everything you said. @amyg @mollyrotondo @Librarybelle @Hooked_on_books NO one can do it all perfectly. Something always has to give. There is an abnormal amount of pressure on women though. Still. Even though we know better. Women are often their own worst enemies also. Mental health surely is impacted. Having it "all" is relative, right? I'm on board with equal partners ? 4y
JaclynW @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Hooked_on_books @Librarybelle @OriginalCyn620 @mollyrotondo @amyg @thebookhippie And seriously...why is this article aimed solely to women? 🙄🙄🙄 Society is such a contributor to this pressure problem. 4y
mollyrotondo @JaclynW yes I agree! Why is it only aimed at women?! 4y
TheBookHippie @JaclynW right ?! That article is 2012 WTH 🤦🏽‍♀️😫 4y
JaclynW @mollyrotondo @thebookhippie 2012!! That's the problem that still in these recent times that this is a focus. Despite information otherwise. Why do we do this to ourselves. Thanks society! 😉 🥴 4y
Hooked_on_books @JaclynW Yes, you never see these articles aimed at men, only women. A glaring example of our ongoing inequality and the absurd expectations heaped upon women that many understandably internalize and heap on themselves. It‘s such 💩 4y

#BOTMBUDDYREAD #2

Which woman stands out to you?
Why?

mollyrotondo I guess the woman in the middle sitting down with brown hair. Mostly because my eye is drawn to the middle. But she also looks like me so I feel like I can “relate” to her more. She looks like she‘s my age 4y
OriginalCyn620 Right now, Sloane is standing out more because we know she and Ames have a past history. It makes me wonder what experiences Grace and Ardie have had with him, as well as what will happen with Katherine. 4y
TheBookHippie @OriginalCyn620 Right?? How is this going to connect ! Also Katherine- big mystery! 4y

Librarybelle I have to agree with @OriginalCyn620 , that Sloane seems to stand out more. It could be because we have had more info about Sloane than the others. 4y
Soubhiville I‘m also the most interested in Sloane so far. 4y
JaclynW @OriginalCyn620 @Librarybelle Sloane totally sticks out more at this point. She just has that personality that sticks out. Plus we know the history. I'm intrigued by all of the women though.@thebookhippie 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Definitely Sloane!!! Wasn‘t that the same woman‘s name in Three Women?! @TheBookHippie @OriginalCyn620 @mollyrotondo @Librarybelle 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620 @Librarybelle what‘s up with that?! 🤣🤣 4y
CoffeeNBooks Sloane, because she seems to be connected in some way to every other person in the story. 4y
TheBookHippie @CoffeeNBooks It does appear that way! 4y

#BOTMBUDDYREAD #1
if you‘re waiting on your book no worries just catch up later we‘re always here❤️❤️

Here we go!!!

Some way to start the book 😳
If only you‘d listened to us, none of this would have happened...

What do you think of the format ?

AmyG I am going to answer about what I remember....as I read this a while ago. I had no problem with the format. I like having unanswered questions- makes me want to keep reading. 4y
mollyrotondo I like the format too. I like following each woman and hearing about their different lives from each of their POV‘s. The interviews with the detective some times leave me wanting so I wish some of them were a little longer. 4y
OriginalCyn620 Love the format! I like the alternating POVs, which gives us the perspective of each woman - her actions and thoughts. I love the documents too - it‘s a cool way to reveal little nuggets, or even bombshells! 4y

Librarybelle I‘m fine with the format - different POV‘s, with just enough info from transcripts and documentation to know something shady is going to happen 4y
Hooked_on_books Full disclosure, I read this book last fall, so I‘ll try not to spoil anything. I really liked the format. I felt like it built tension well throughout the book and kept things moving nicely. 4y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I‘m enjoying the format!! 4y
JaclynW Agreed. I love the format. Hearing different perspectives just adds to the story. @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Hooked_on_books @Librarybelle @OriginalCyn620 @mollyrotondo @amyg Sorry I'm late to the party! I made a Costco run today. 😳 4y
Soubhiville I like the little bits of transcript at the beginning of each chapter, and I‘m always into alternating perspectives. 4y
TheBookHippie @JaclynW WOW BRAVERY!!! Hope it went well ! 4y
TheBookHippie @Hooked_on_books I think that‘ll speed up too. 4y
JaclynW @TheBookHippie Or....stupidity.... 🤷‍♀️ Actually Costco was pretty dead today. I had many aisles all to myself. Lots of space! 4y
CoffeeNBooks I really like the way this is written, it adds to the suspense! 4y
