Started this book a couple of hours ago and I‘m more than halfway through. Absolutely cannot put it down. Man‘s inhumanity to man is beyond comprehension but so too can be man‘s resiliency when anchored in faith ❤️

I read this book in high school and it has stuck with me since then. Through terror and tears I made it through this book quickly. I handed it off to my aunt who then passed it around to friends and it has never stayed in a home more than a week. This book is incredible and Immaculee is the epitome of what we should all strive to be. A survivor. I can‘t even begin describe the impact she had on me through her writing.
#Rwanda holds a very special place in my heart. I have yet to read this book, but I know it will be hard, despite the fact it has been 25 years since the genocide.
#HappyIndependenceDay, Rwanda, and may you continue to grow and be a light to others.
This was an incredible story. The 1994 Rwandan genocide was such a brutal and heartbreaking event, but Ilibagiza‘s story of faith was truly amazing. I loved seeing her strong relationship with God and the resilience and forgiveness she gained because of her faith. Highly recommended!

“Just one more chapter..” 😴
I was right...this was gut wrenching and heart breaking. I cannot believe that people can do these things to each other. I cried from start to finish😥.
However, I encourage everyone to READ THIS BOOK!!!

I saw Immaculée's talk at the the GLS 2017 conference and was putting of to read the book since then, because it will be heart breaking and gut wrenching, but I believe it is now time!
“Never refuse any who ask you for help; if your pockets are empty, give them hope. Your every action must be born of kindness, your every word spoken with love. Live as God would have you live, and others will be inspired to do the same.”
This book is an amazing story.
A story of courage and faith of an extraordinary woman
What this woman has gone through breaks my heart. She lived through the Rwandan genocide in the 90s, but lost so many. I'm not a religious person, but I enjoyed reading how her faith in god got her through such a horrible time. #nonfiction
This true story broke my heart. The story needs to be read and discussed in order to make sure history does not allow this to happen again!
This was an amazing and wrenching read
