I‘ve got two other books in progress (Once Upon a River and The Joyful Vegan), but my main #weeklyforecast is to get a start on reading the Master Keaton manga series. I‘ve slowly been collecting volumes over the last couple of years and I finally got the last volume in December. It‘s high time to start reading and I‘m really looking forward to it! I‘ve heard such good things. 😃

#junetunz day 24

Have had something of an #obsession as of late with mid-80s manga series. Got these all today in some #bookmail ; the back cover on one of the Keatons is uncomfortably flush with the pages, but otherwise, they're all in good condition.

Pickpick

Viz Media's Signature Editions of the Master Keaton series are absolutely stunning, and the #manga itself is more than worthy. In the classic globe-trotting adventure tradition with no small amount of Cold War intrigue (the series got its start in the late 80s and drew from historical & political events for its plots). A deft and wide-ranging sense of tone becomes especially apparent in this volume, exciting the reader for whatever comes next.

Taichi Hiraga Keaton is an insurance investigator, Oxford-educated archaeology lecturer and former member of the SAS. A pretty fun read. And also the first book I've come across with a sound effects glossary at the back!

Guillotine_Jane are those sheep on your mug? :) 8y
DiruVamp A sound effect glossary? I love it! 8y
pppooraikul I'm a huge fan of Urasawa Naoki! 😍 Highly suggest this one. 8y

Procrastireader If you eat peanut butter while reading it keeps the pages from sticking to the roof of your mouth 8y
RealLifeReading @Procrastireader that explains why I need more peanut butter in the house 8y
Pfffft This picture is very inviting! 8y
JoanWong Is it similar to Pluto and Monster? - in depth characters? 8y
