Middle school me would have enjoyed this even more than adult me. I found the main character a little whiney, but I still read this in one day.

I wish my copy had been an original from 1989. I understand they want to get today‘s kids to pick it up, but I would have preferred to read the original version.

Bookzombie @Reggie She wrote quite few, including I know What You Did Last Summer and Killing Mr. Griffin. I haven‘t read those, but definitely have seen the movies. Duncan said that DLBY was a premonition of her daughter‘s murder. There was a bit about it at the end of the book. Duncan also wrote a non-fiction book about her daughter.

This book was alright. It had a few parts were I was genuinely scared or creeped out from the words on the page, but it wasn't my favourite really. Lois Duncan is a great author and she can write some good stories I however, feel this one cut a little short for me. 📖📖📖

Original 1989 cover, sometimes nostalgia isn‘t all it‘s cracked up to be. This is something I would have loved to read when I was 11, according to the back cover Lois Duncan is the queen of the teen thriller. As an adult however I wanted to strangle the neck of the teen protagonist she was whiney, self centered, and just plain dumb. As a tween I would have found her drama justified, tantrums wholly appropriate as an adult not so much.⬇️

amb After her father is recruited to testify against the shady people he works for, April‘s family is uprooted and put into the witness protection program. With a killer after them she has to leave town without telling anyone and even miss prom!! Ugh, good thing her 8 year old brother is 15 times more mature than any other member of the family. 7y
