Servants of the Storm | Delilah S. Dawson
7 posts | 10 read | 6 to read
An urban fantasy that could rival some of Holly Blacks most imaginative and creepy fare (BCCB). A year ago, Hurricane Josephine swept through Savannah, Georgia, leaving behind nothing but death and destructionand taking the life of Doveys best friend, Carly. Since that night, Dovey has been in a medicated haze, numb to everything around her. But recently shes started to believe shes seeing things that cant be realincluding Carly at their favorite caf. Determined to learn the truth, Dovey stops taking her pills. And the world that opens up to her is unlike anything she could have imagined. As Dovey slips deeper into the shadowy corners of Savannahwhere the dark and horrifying secrets lurkshe learns that the storm that destroyed her city and stole her friend was much more than a force of nature. And now the sinister beings truly responsible are out to finish what they started.

This one was kind of odd. You have a girl that all of a sudden can see demons but she couldn‘t see them before. There‘s no rhyme or reason for the change. And although this is fiction I think it should still be plausible.

YAS. That was scary and I loved it. It was weird and THE END OMG. Definitely a pick! If you like Anna Dressed in Blood or Casquette Girls - do it.

3 1/2. I liked it even though it isn't my usual genre. Creepy enough for me. I can't handle much more. Book held by my daughter while we are at urgent care for her wrist due to falling off her bike. 😔

KCorter Aw, poor kid! I hope her wrist heals quickly. 7y
JoeStalksBeck Hope she's ok!🙏🏻❤️ 7y
Robothugs I hope she is okay! 7y

Cuddled up with tea and a book after a run. This cover is my #impossible for #lyricalapril Thanks to @Cinfhen for a fun photo prompt.

Anyone else read this? I'm about half way though, and not invested enough to HAVE to keep going, but still curious as to how it all comes together. But I can totally walk away. At any time. Anyone have any direction? Should I keep going or abandon? Help.

CaitlinSiem I enjoyed this, but it did take me a little while to get into it. The ending is pretty twisty. 8y
Maude_Lynne @CaitlinSiem I couldn't do it. I skipped ahead to the end. 8y
