I‘ve decided to go back to school and finally learn ASL proper and this book has been really understandable, humorous and pretty self-explanatory. GET AN ASL DICTIONARY. I feel like it assumed I already knew deaf people/ASL. If you‘re a total newbie you can still get it, but supplementary material is A+. The discs are VITAL and DO NOT skip them.

mahasoor Legit by the time you finish unit 6, you‘ll be able to understand and easily comprehend what is being conveyed to you via sign 4y

#cozy this afternoon was a little nest for the sick kid facilitating drop-in at the Equality Community Center for #LGBTQIA folks (spoiler: it me)
Got a bit of homework done, but mostly watched the lion king and fought sleep. #30daysofreadathon #day22 #readathon

Betty I was in grad school with Ken Mikos. Love him! It tickles me to see this book and tape on Litsy! 7y
kgriffith @Betty How cool! Yep, this is the text for my ASL 101 course 😊 7y
KVanRead My daughter is taking ASL 101 right now for her world language requirement and using this book too. She likes the class but it‘s 3 hours on Monday nights 😒 7y
kgriffith @KVanRead 3.5 on Thursdays for me! 😐😴 7y

Took this baby out of the pantry (Yes, you read that right lol. I've turned it into my private library.) now that I'm teaching the kiddos to sign. I like to think they'll thank me one day 😆

AlienBritt Pantry library sounds awesome! 8y
sherrynuts Library pantry?! Genius! 🏆 8y
Peddler410 I taught my daughter sign as a baby. Now, age 7, she still uses some of those signs, she's learning Mandarin in school AND she wants to learn more sign! Enjoy! 8y

Peddler410 @brittnaypozen it's a PBS program from 14 years ago but available at my public library so check yours. We bought the series (13) which introduce vocabulary with music, kids signing, and words on the screen. The creators are now working on Signing Time Sentences 8y
brittnaypozen @Peddler410 that sounds awesome, thanks. Anything with music my oldest loves (: 8y
