Expanded to cover additional topics of interest, the new edition includes: a full chapter on current research in play therapy new sections on supervising play therapists, legal and ethical issues and multicultural concerns 30 new photographs that show the author demonstrating techniques in-session practical tips for working with parents instructions on play room set-up and materials online instructor resources. The Third Edition will feel both familiar and fresh to educators and trainers who have relied on Landreths text for years. The guidelines, transcripts, and case examples offered help therapists govern sensitive issues at every stage of the therapeutic process, from the first meeting to the end of the relationship.

It's hard to do the #hour42challenge because at the present moment, I have about 7 different bookcases organized differently. Some shelves hold beloved children's books/series (see 3/6 copies of HP1, T), old/vintage books, classics, favorite adult books, series, comics/graphic novels, religious books and people who are friends of CS Lewis (Tolkein), nonfiction, YA, romance/women's fiction, kids/YA, BSC, school books (B), adult fiction, etc #24in48

I love Landreth's "rules of thumb." This is a good reminder to never let someone's weaknesses become your definition of them as a person.

Libby1 I remember Prof L (in, sadly, the only social work course I ever took) used to always say that "every 'social problem' has a name, a face and a soul". I'll never forget that. ❤️ 8y

I've been practicing play therapy in my clinical work for almost 10 years and had not read this classic. It's great for developing a positive philosophy of childhood and communication skills that help kids grow. 10% off if you bought it at the annual conference of the Association for Play Therapy :) #psychology #children

Libby1 Do you have any recommendations for children's books about moving schools? 8y
RusskayaChica @Libby1, I haven't read any myself, but in skimming options on Amazon, I noticed "Curious You" for kids and "Understanding School Transition" (I generally trust Routledge Press) and "New Kid in School" for adults. 8y
Libby1 Thanks, dear. 💜 8y
