Mehso-so

Isabelle is living at a convent with her mother when an enemy from her parents‘ past makes a reappearance. She‘s forced to flee, hoping to find the Merry Men of Sherwood Forest and her father, the legendary Robin Hood.

A strong beginning for me, but fell apart quickly. Characters felt flat, pacing was weird, the world felt shallow, & the plot felt slapped together. What really frustrates is that I can see the good bones underneath. 🌕🌕🌗🌑🌑

Kenyazero The best low-rated book has good bones under all the mess! 2y

Pickpick

When the author's note hopes that I devoured this in one afternoon, she wasn't joking. What an amazing take on the legend of Robin Hood that has mystery, adventure, the Merry Men and a deep seed of family and loyalty. I enjoyed seeing Isabelle's growth during this book. I so hope we get more of her story.

I felt really bored with this book. I couldn‘t connect with any of the characters. Had a great premise for a retelling, but the writing felt juvenile.
