Pickpick

What a funny quirky little book. You might not think you want to read a surprisingly lyrical account of the lifespan of an oyster followed by a witty exploration of recipes and various uses, but it was exactly the fun read I needed right now. Obv some of the descriptions are quite 'of their time' but the style reminded me a bit of David Sedaris. I'm curious as to which restaurant she visited in Liverpool. (still not trying oysters though. Sorry.)

Cathythoughts Sounds different! I can‘t see myself & the oyster though. But I do I hear great reports ( 😬) 4y

#ReadHarder challenge 15: a food book about a cuisine you've never tried before (and let's be honest never will)

Sace Not even smoked oysters? Those are pretty tasty. 😋 4y
arlenefinnigan @Sace I'll take your word for it, I'm vegetarian 😉 4y
Sace @arlenefinnigan well.... It has been years. And my father always ate them when I was a child. I was vegan for about 5 years. I should at least take vegetarianism back up. 4y
CarolynM There's nothing better than a plate of natural oysters and a glass of champagne😋 4y
