A Few Pecans Short of a Pie
A Few Pecans Short of a Pie | Molly Harper
7 posts | 7 read | 1 to read
Sexy school principal Kyle faces the biggest challenge of his career: getting his (pregnant) event planner girlfriend Margot down the aisle before the baby arrives! Readers first fell in love with big city event planner Margot in the first Southern Eclectic novel, Sweet Tea and Sympathy, as she discovered a long-lost branch of her familythe McCreadys, of McCready's Bait Shop & Funeral Home. To Margots surprise, she's taken a liking to life in small-town Georgia...helped along by a romance with the hot elementary school principal. The two of them have been taking it slowor they were until Margot gets pregnant! Kyle wants to make an honest woman of her, but Margot's still trying to proceed with caution. After all, she was the best event planner in Chicago before she ever came to Lake Sacketther wedding has to be perfect, and perfect includes not having the baby halfway down the aisle. With her trademark witty prose and warmhearted storytelling, Molly Harpers newest glimpse of the McCready family will be perfect for fans of Christina Lauren and Amy E. Reichert.

I really love this series, and this was just the book I need to treat myself after a long Monday! The duo of Molly Harper and narrator Amanda Ronconi always perks me up and makes me laugh. ;)

A quick transition novella to the next book in the series "Gimme Some Sugar" which I have on audiobook. This one features Margot & Kyle & centers on whether they make it down the aisle before she gives birth. It also introduces Lucy the new bakery owner who is back in town, the MC for the next book & whose pecan pie is Margot's pregnancy craving. Cute, light & funny, this Southern series is perfect for summer reading-but start from the beginning.

It was a long & crazy week teaching 2 interviewing workshops & giving a presentation at an evening HR event last night so...

1. My early morning start with a quiet office & Friday fried rice with an over easy egg on top from the diner by work & 30 minutes to read something short & light over breakfast made me very happy. 🤗

2. Sleep, relaxing & reading are my weekend goals. Yay for the 3-days! 🎉I need it!

Very cute follow up to book one of this series - “Sweet Tea and Sympathy”. Not a standalone! I love Molly Harper, her books always make me smile, smirk and often guffaw. #romantsy #romanticcomedy
