Is it is certainly has a political view, but it's still a bit of a fun, violent and mercifully short novella.

I'll admit that I was equal parts horrified and not surprised by what I found in this book. Here is an America where gun culture is taken to an extreme. Instead of a world where reform takes place we have one in which the public is subjected to media that embraces mass shootings as a form of entertainment. They are planned. They are implemented. They are sought after by the public. Hard to read but worth if only so we can avoid this outcome.

It‘s been a whirlwind week and a whirlwind couple of days! Received a yuuuummmyyy stack of books for my bday (including the #SFFS books since open day was that day 😁😁). I cannot wait to read each of these!!

This was short but intense and incredibly graphic/violent. I finished it in a day because it was so good but terrifying. An America where there is an aging population and the economy is in ruins, mass shootings have been made commonplace. Enough so that it's now the basis of a hit game show: Vigilance. Trigger warning for gun violence.

This is such a difficult read and one I dont normally pick up.

It dosent mean that I dont like it, the writing is great, the world is so vivid even though it is a novella.

I dont know how many times I have thought about putting it down because of the content...

Takes the concept of ‘The Purge‘ movies mixed with the production behind ‘The Hunger Games‘ (or the classic Arnold film Running Man) Indiscriminate killings and a glimpse into a future of manufactured fear.
I don‘t know what that says about me but I loved it. ☠️
