5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book is all about the illustrations. The illustrations are amazing, and not just because the people are illustrated as POC instead of a white. It‘s so refreshing to see that in this story. Normally Jesus, Mary, and Joseph are epictured as a white family, and here they match the story setting. Plus, I love the story of how the song came to be that is included at the end. Great job!

I‘m always looking for Christmas books with Mary, Joseph and Jesus as people of color (there are no white people in the Bible!). This gorgeously illustrated book is set to the words of the classic song.

I would frame any one of these illustrations, and I‘ll be buying this for my godson.
