Mehso-so

I have very mixed feelings about this. On a positive note, I connected deeply with Eden. Being introverted, I understood the problems with her best friend and her job because I experienced those same things. However, her abrupt change in the end was a little off-putting. The entire novel was slow-paced and detail centered until the last thirty pages. I wish Everett would have flushed out Eden‘s character development with others a little more.

104_goodbuddyy The plot of the story was also unique. The idea of being able to speak to a dead person was interesting. However, at times I felt like it was too realistic even for advanced A.I., but that was part of the story. I enjoyed the variety of characters, especially Oliver and Kennie, but I wish we would have gotten more of Will‘s mother. Overall though, it was an enjoyable read and the novel honestly helped me reflect on my own relationships in life. 14mo

I got a few chapters in but the writing style wasn't appealing. It was bland and lackluster. The MC was already grating on my nerves as being codependent. This was just "too high school" for me.
