The original myth of Hades & Persephone is...well, it doesn‘t stand up in its entirety to today‘s audiences. This book takes the framework, builds a new world around it and BAM! An awesome tale with mystery, a coming-of-age story about a smart, spunky, compassionate Persephone. And how great is Demeter? If you have a young one who is interested in mythology but they‘re not ready for how bananas weird those gods/goddesses were, go with this! 😊

This was a great story and the illustrations were okay. It's about a girl who was adopted by a mage and is kidnapped to Hades. I loved all the characters and figured out who the bad guy was pretty early on. Ending was cute and happy. Just as a good story should end!

A new take on the Persephone myth. I enjoyed this new take a lot. Still follows the basic myth but gives it a new world and magic that‘s just a lot of fun.

I‘ve been really into Greek myth retellings this year, esp. the Persephone myth (any Lore Olympus Webtoons fans out here?) and this one didn‘t fail to disappoint! Loïc was more just briefly inspired by the original story, but it was so cool to see where he went with it. Loved Demeter as a BA mage but also really appreciated Persephone‘s storyline, which gave her such agency and purpose. She‘s a v strong heroine! Art style is great for Ghibli fans!
