A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows: An Outlander Novella
A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows: An Outlander Novella | Diana Gabaldon
5 posts | 42 read | 33 to read
Synopsis: Available for the first time as an exclusive eBook in this original Outlander novella, Diana Gabaldon reveals what really happened to Roger MacKenzie Wakefield’s parents. Orphaned during World War II, Roger believed that his mother died during the London Blitz, and that his father, an RAF pilot, was killed in combat. But in An Echo in the Bone, Roger discovers that this may not be the whole story. Now, in “A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows,” readers finally learn the truth. Praise for Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series “All you’ve come to expect from Gabaldon . . . adventure, history, romance, fantasy.”—The Arizona Republic, on An Echo in the Bone “A grand adventure written on a canvas that probes the heart, weighs the soul and measures the human spirit across ten generations.”—CNN, on The Fiery Cross “Escapist historical fiction at its best.”—San Antonio Express-News, on Drums of Autumn “A feast for ravenous readers of eighteenth-century Scottish history, heroism and romance.”—Kirkus Reviews, on Outlander Biography: Are they histories? Fantasies? Science fiction? While it may be impossible to categorize the books Diana Gabaldon calls historical fantasias, it hardly matters to the author s huge and loyal fan base, all of whom are just eager to devour Gabaldon s richly detailed, complexly plotted, extravagantly romantic romps through time, space, and breathtaking landscapes.

I began the series in 2014, in time to watch the new STARZ series. I've read all of the Outlander series and all of the Lord John Grey series. If you enjoy historical fiction, time travel, and tremendous storytelling, check out these books.

Outlander TV Series has made me a bit judgy on Scottish accents. After listening to Sam Heughan, Graham McTavish, & Richard Rankin' s beautiful brogues it's so obvious that narrator is not Scottish. I googled. He's English doing a Scottish accent. I don't care for it. Switching to Kindle. #justmyopinion

Since I've already posted about my two favorite story collections on here, I decided to give a shout-out to this Outlander story. It's fifty pages long and tells about Roger's parents during WWII. Recommended for all fans!

I've listened on Audible to some of the Outlander #shortstories (or "novellas"; they are really short stories). Some good; some bizarre. I liked this one. I've not listened to Virgins yet. May skip it. #somethingforsept

Listened to this on audio; good stuff. Not essential but it's interesting to hear the story from Roger's dad's point of view.
