6 posts | 20 read | 7 to read
David Baldacci's million-copy-plus bestseller is now a feature film available on DVD and video on demand! Precocious 12-year-old Louisa Mae Cardinal lives in the hectic New York City of 1940 with her family. Then tragedy strikes--and Lou and her younger brother, Oz, must go with their invalid mother to live on their great-grandmother's farm in the Virginia mountains. Suddenly Lou finds herself coming of age in a new landscape, making her first true friend, and experiencing adventures tragic, comic, and audacious. But the forces of greed and justice are about to clash over her new home...and as their struggle is played out in a crowded Virginia courtroom, it will determine the future of two children, an entire town, and the mountains they love.

Mehso-so

My dad thought I would like this book. Bless his heart. I did like some aspects of it - I like that it took place in the South, I liked the kids' names, and there were a handful of good quotes.
What I didn't like was that it was so predictable.
I had never read anything by David Baldacci before and I understand that this book is unlike all his others.
For me, it was okay. Not a pan, but not a favorite.

#Six books by the same author. I haven't read any of these. My husband rarely reads but when he does he enjoys Baldacci's novels.

Andrew65 Wish You Well is a true classic, and so different to most of the books David Baldacci has written. Loved that book, and always enjoy his other books. 7y

I've never read any of his legal thrillers, but I'm adding this change-of-pace book to my #TBR list. He's a charming speaker. #nationalbookfest
