Warlock Holmes - My Grave Ritual
Warlock Holmes - My Grave Ritual | G.S. Denning
6 posts | 4 read | 3 to read
"If you ever wondered how much better Sherlock would be if people could hurl hellfire at each other, well this one is for you." Starburst Magazine on A Study in Brimstone As they blunder towards doom, Warlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson find themselves inconvenienced by a variety of eldritch beings. Christmas brings a goose that doesn't let being cooked slow it down; they meet an electricity demon, discover why being a redhead is even tricker than one might imagine, and Holmes attempts an Irish accent. And, naturally, Moriarty is hanging around... in some form or other.

Number 3 in the series, with lots more antics from Warlock and the gang, it was as good as the others! Some genuine laugh out loud moments which got me a few odd looks from my Husband! I really love the audio versions of these, the narrator is just brilliant. Just a lot of fun!

Getting some fresh air and natural light on my lunch break by working on my next batch of face masks in the garden listening to the tagged book!

I made a couple of masks for my parents and since then have been making batches for the nursing home my Mum works in. All cut out and now need to get sewing!

Crazy times!

Eggs How wonderful! 4y

I've learned with this series that I need to lean into the absurd to enjoy it fully. My Grave Ritual is book 3 in the Warlock Holmes series which takes the Sherlock classics and gives them a fantasy twist complete with a vampire Lestrade, a Watson who is more Holmes than Holmes, and a Holmes who is a 200+ year old wizard. It makes for some strange reading at times. If you enjoy absurdist fiction than this may be you.

Sace I think I have the first book in this series. Thanks for reminding me! 4y

There's an interesting demon on this book.

Bears a similarity to a particular political character, don't you think? 😉

I love this crazy, zany rip off of Sherlock Holmes and the narrator is just fantastic. The stories are beginning to feel repetitive but it is still great fun

Currently enjoying the latest offering in the Warlock Holmes series. The plot never goes where you would expect. And the characters refuse to behave.
