Well, this was a strange Mrs. Robinson‘ish story. Mikala really does need better friends. I kept reading but didn‘t enjoy it. It was kind of icky. I‘m glad I didn‘t read EH‘s Nantucket books in publication order as this is Book 2 and I might have given up on the author with this effort. I have two more books to read before I can call the EH Nantucket series complete!

Now on the one hand, this book was so hard to put down & I listened to the 11-hour audiobook in one day. On the other hand, what a huge bunch of despicable awful people! Except for Kayla, who was a pushover also, there is not one single character in here who is likable. They are all awful. Also leaves you with a grubby feeling when a 40-something woman has an affair with her best friend‘s 18-year-old son. So gross, yet nonetheless compelling. 3⭐️

Ugh, this was just so so bad.

How can 1 person write so many captivating books? How are they all located in the same place, a place I have never been, and be so intriguing and different from the last. I really enjoyed this book about relationships, betrayal, and ultimately friendship and love. Just read all her books. I‘m going to. 😂

It took just one day to read this one and it was eh. Her more recent books are better, but she can write an easy to read, page turner. This one was just too far fetched and dramatic for my taste.

I normally LOVE all Elin Hilderbrand novels but this one just didn‘t do it for me. Too much drama and extremely predictable.

This was my middle of the night read. I like her books - they‘re such good beach reads (if only I was at the beach!).

#AugustIsATrip Day 19: Apparently, there is a #Nantucket genre on Goodreads. Awesome. Nancy Thayer and Elin Hilderbrand seem to be the popular resident authors.

Finished this one today. It is not typical Hildebrand novel. I found it very dark and full of drama, too much drama. This novel was three novels in one. I did not like the display of female relationships. The women were either self conscience leading them to make very bad decisions or abrasively strong leading them to make bad decisions. This book tries too hard. I was looking for the typical Hildebrand book: food, scenery, love, Nantucket!
