pickEve is trapped in a loveless marriage, but sees no way of escaping. Out of the blue she receives a letter informing her of a inheritance from a wealthy stranger. In order to find out what it is, Eve must travel to the French Riviera. This was a solid historical mystery.
so-soThe scenery sounded beautiful but the actual plot didn‘t really pick up until the end. I only kept reading because a friend recommended it. 🤷🏻♀️
pickOne of my favourite reads of the summer. This would make a great beach as long as you don‘t get freaked out by the fact that this is happening at the seaside. But as it‘s set on the post-war Rivera you should be ok. I figured out a bit of the resolution fairly early on, but it didn‘t mess up my enjoyment.
I‘m a tad late to #AugustIsATrip but hoping I can catch up. These are the books I have on the go at the moment, so I guess they are a #TBRStack, & they feature #Russia (I love Boris Akunin‘s Fandorin series) & #Belgium (A chunk of the action in The Swimmer takes place in Brussels)

Him Indoors is working his way through Steph Plum and started The Templars last holiday (so did I to be fair!) and then I picked my books by pulling a stack of around a dozen, asking him which ones he‘d read too and then me picking there of his choices.
