⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Michelle was taken first. She, Amanda Berry, and Gina DeJesus were held captive for YEARS enduring repeated abuse and malnutrition. Knight horrifically suffered many forced abortions; the monster especially violent toward her. This begins with her tumultuous, poverty-stricken, abusive childhood. My god. How much must one human suffer? She is one tough woman, never giving up hope for life beyond the chains of that ramshackle white house.

Cinfhen Oy! No words 😭😭😭I hope the Monster got the death penalty/ in some cases they just don‘t deserve to live. Life in jail seems to easy 3y
britt_brooke @Cinfhen He was sentenced to life + 1000 years (which I still don‘t quite understand), however he died by suicide in prison about 30 days after the women escaped. Coward. 3y
Cinfhen Oh, right!!! I remember that now / total coward 3y

britt_brooke @Cinfhen Btw, I‘m reading one more book about this whole situation now and then I‘ll be content, I think. 🐰⤵️🕳 3y
Cinfhen I don‘t know how you can stomach it all😢💔GREAT use of emoji‘s (edited) 3y
britt_brooke @Cinfhen Do you ever feel like you owe it to the victims/survivors? That‘s where I‘m at right now. It‘s so very difficult though. I‘m not sure I could be as tough as these women. They amaze me. 3y
Cinfhen Absolutely and yes, these women are incredible. I hope their able to have a somewhat “normal” life. 3y

The only reason I could get through this book was knowing how it would eventually end.

This young woman (and two others) was kidnapped, raped and tortured FOR OVER A DECADE.

I found it even more heartbreaking that even after her rescue, she doesn't have a relationship with her family.

This is a sad book.

I pray that Michelle continues her upward trajectory and finds peace and strength in her freedom.

GUYS. This was a rough one. I read it super fast, because it‘s so awful and I just wanted to get to the end where Michelle and Gina and Amanda are free. This is Michelle‘s account of her being held captive for 11 years, raped and tortured that whole time. She is an AMAZING woman, to come out the other end with love to give and stories to tell to lift up other victims.

This book was hard to read, only because of the content. But I think she did a great job of not making it gratuitous, sadly, more for herself than for the reader. Since I'm an Ohioan, I thought it was important to read the story to help give her story justice.

This is the story of a survivor. She suffered through so much pain both physical and emotional throughout her young life. Most of us would have given up. She is amazing. Powerful stuff.

Although chilling to read what these poor women went through, she is so strong.
