Thought the #WhartonBuddyRead folks & others would enjoy the few #vintage Whartons I‘ve found . The two on each end are 2 of the 4 of the Old New York series.I found all of these at the big sale they have here in Phoenix in February a couple of years ago.

Lcsmcat So cool! I love old books. 12mo
Graywacke Those are gorgeous. Nice find 12mo
Leftcoastzen @Graywacke @Lcsmcat Thanks ! Granted they aren‘t minty but I am always surprised to find books from the 1920s anymore in a general sale , time marches on … (edited) 12mo

Becker What is it about old books that we love? My heart did a pitter patter when I saw your picture. 12mo
Leftcoastzen @Becker I think part of it for me anyway is imagining walking in the store & buying the original edition , even if it‘s a later printing near the time it was published. Or just loving the fact it made it this long!😀 12mo

Pickpick

My heart broke for both Charlotte and Delia (but mostly Charlotte) in this short tale of two women living life in the very restrictive upper middle-class society of 1850s old New York. An unwed pregnancy and their love for the resulting child bind the two women in complicated ways.
