Good to read if you are liberal and a Christian. President Carter has an interesring perspective, and it's nice to hear a voice from his generation counter the alt right narrative. This book addresses spirtual and sociological faith. He also explains how faith and science aren't in conflict. Good, short read.

pickWhat does it mean to have faith? Not just in a spiritual way, but in other people? In a system? In our government?
All this is considered in a fairly short book, with lots of personal reminiscing about his life and his efforts to have his actions match his faith. Carter reminds us that, for people of faith in God, faith without love is insufficient.
Knitting and reading on another dreary day in the Pacific Northwest. At least this book counts as work.

What do you #Believe? There seems to be #infinite ways to answer that question! I #wish to learn more about the thoughts of different believers. pickFirst book of thee year! I really enjoyed this one and am in awe of Carter‘s honesty and humility. I‘m glad my first book was optimistic to help put me in the right mindset for the year.
pickCarter has always struck me as one whose actions and beliefs align. In this book, he explores the various definitions of faith - religious faith, faith in mankind, faith in our country's ideals. He looks at how faith has influenced his decisions and actions personally, professionally, and politically. It was an engaging read and a good reminder that those in the current political sphere aren't the defining voice for people of faith.
