Hello, litten family!! I hope you all have been having an enjoyable holiday! The holidays are usually a struggle for me, but this Christmas was the best one I‘ve had in years. I‘m still kinda in awe of how it came through, of how I was content and grateful for what I have, not wanting something different or more. I owe several of you letters, responses, postcards and comments on books. I haven‘t forgotten and will send out some litten love soon!⬇️
What necrophilia is, really, is this: sexual obsession for men who are incapable of having a real relationship because they have no heart in their chest cavity. What they have is an empty socket that will electrocute you if you try to get close and touch it or maybe just point a flashlight that way to see what's wrong.
I searched my shelves and this was the best I could come up with for today's #MayBookFlowers theme of #sunshine. Not entirely inappropriate given the beautiful sundress-friendly weather in NYC right now, but still.
I seem drawn to memoirs by hard-living, heavy-drinking, once-privileged women writers.
Interesting collection of essays. I don't actually know any of her other work. Finished while at the gym. I've found that I can really only read on the bike.

In the TBR pile! Kim's biting sarcastic essays tackle middle age from a writer's perspective. From one night stands at conferences to empty book readings, the ups and downs of being a writer turns out to be pretty entertaining.
I wasn't able to read a whole lot for #24in48 but I did finish this book, which was a good read. It's more essays than memoir, which I didn't expect, but they were good: raw, honest, and funny. About her life and loves and her writing.
Seven books and a movie.
Out today. Funny, irreverent, cutting, tender, and oh so true. Read straight through or an essay at a time.
So much to live here! I've got at least three friends in mind who will need to borrow it as soon as I finish! I love finding a book and knowing exactly who it was written for and being able to pass it on to that person.
