So I'm deep in the throes of writing my next book. I eat, sleep, & fart it, & at the end of a two-thousand word day, I'm like, hello Netflix, cause there's no brain power left for reading, but I miss you guys, so I've put together a short series on author lingo for you all. Let me know if any of these are new terms or if you already knew them.
HEA and HFN are two types of story endings: Happily Ever After & it's less joyful cousin, Happy For Now.

readordierachel I had heard of HEA but not HFN 6y
RealBooks4ever Not familiar with either one! Thanks for sharing! 💜 6y
JessClark78 Thanks for sharing. Don‘t remember hearing these terms before. 🙂 6y

sloanghost I recently interviewed with a romance imprint & HEA came up but I wasn't introduced to HFN. Would I be right in guessing that HFN lends itself more to a series that continues to focus on a single couple? 6y
Melissa_J Thanks for sharing, I‘d never seen HFN before. 6y
RaimeyGallant @sloanghost It can apply to any genre, but the term may have originated with romance. HFN is like when things turn out okay, though not perfect. 6y
Cortg Fun facts! Thanks for sharing! 6y
alvingregorio I'm HFN 6y
RaimeyGallant @alvingregorio You crack me up. 6y
MelAnn “It‘s less joyful cousin ...” 😂🤣😂 6y
SaturnDoo I have heard both of these. A lot of the romance readers in the GR groups use them. 6y
