I think I have officially given up with James Patterson and his endless, lazy collaborations. Hated Rory I found him incredibly childish and thought the story was boring.

Tripex Read one Alex Cross was dissapointed. Picked up another one, hoping he would redeem himself, DNFed it. There and then I swore myself off his books 4y

RamsFan1963 @suzie.reads At the rate those books come out, I'm sure all Patterson does is write a very basic story outline, then the other author actually writes the book. His name comes first simply as marketing to sell the book, but the other person does the work, that's why they vary so much quality, although variance is only between mediocre and garbage. 4y

suzie.reads @RamsFan1963 I've said the same in the past. Just using his name to sell the books. Abit like Lee Child now handing the reigns over to his brother to write the Jack Reacher books because he wants the money but can't be bothered writing them. 4y

RamsFan1963 @suzie.reads Awww I didn't know that about the Jack Reacher books. I'm way behind in the series, but I always enjoyed them. Money keeps churning them out, long after the quality of the writing has long diminished. Very few long run series, I'm talking more than 10 books, keep up the level of the first 3-5 books. 4y

suzie.reads @RamsFan1963 you're right although I think John Sandford manages it. I love the Prey series that is on book 30 and the Virgil Flowers series is on book 12. Also the Harlan Coben, Myron Bolitar series is fab but he seems to have stopped that. 4y

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I've gone to used book sales that have an entire section of his books and bargains just to unload them. I'm eventually going to read Stalking Jack the Ripper but not because he presented it. 4y

This one was a page turner! Enjoyable learning read. My only note is that the main character is a ladies man and he knows.it - this had me rolling.my eyes at a couple of points. I was delighted to see that there will be more books with this character.

I like this book much more than I thought I would. I don‘t know why. After all, it is James Patterson but I am always suspicious about how much was actually written by Patterson when there is another authors name on the cover. It almost seems to me that it was ā€sanctionedā€ by Paterson but not written by him. In any event, I really did enjoy this one. As a matter of fact, it took me until chapter 80 out of 87 to really be sure who the bad guy was.

Howard_L Thought it‘d be a quick enjoyable summer read as well. I‘m not that deep into it and already thinking it doesn‘t sound like James Patterson...certainly not like his best work. 5y

I loved this book a lot more than I thought I would. I have read many Patterson books and some can be very similar and predictable. This one kept me interested and on my toes. I read it in less than a day and read the last 270 pages late into the night. I couldn‘t put it down.

I read this book in about a day and a half. This is one of the best James Patterson books I‘ve read in a while. I fell in love with the character of Rory Yates, and I would be happy if this was the start of a series. Im not sure if it will be though. I really loved it!
