The Great Fairy Tale Disaster
The Great Fairy Tale Disaster | David Conway
1 post | 2 read
A follow up to the bestselling The Great Nursery Rhyme Disaster. Fairy tales have never been funnier than in this outrageously silly picture book! Once upon a time there lived an old Big Bad Wolf. He no longer has any huff and puff to blow down the Three Little Pigs' houses so he scampers off into the pages of the Fairy Tale book to find a new one. He tries one tale after another, but things never quite work to plan. Will he find a fairy tale that suits him perfectly? With all the well-known and well-loved fairy tales, including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. 'It's madness and mayhem which results in a very funny, laugh out loud book.' The Bookbag http://www.davidconwaychildrensbooks.co.uk/

The Great Fairy Tale Disaster by David Conway is a TL PB that I would use for a RA and then would LOVE to use for RT! This hilarious book incorporates all the classic fairy tale story‘s to tell a tale of the infamous big bad wolf who no longer wants to blow down houses. He takes off on a journey hopping through different stories to find the perfect fit for himself. Will he find one? You‘ll have to read it to see for yourself! #UCFLAE3414SP18

WendyV Before using this book for RT, I would introduce it to my students by showing them this video. It‘s a RA of the story told by Erin, who does a really great job using her story telling voice to engage children. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hMA1aIsNE7U 6y
WendyV By showing students the YouTube video of the RA I would be using UDL 2.5 by illustrating the book through multiple media. After students have been introduced to the book, I would create a script for the RT. Having students work together to preform, I am using EL strategy 2 by promoting small group cooperation. 6y
Hervela.L I love reading your post, the books are unfamiliar to me. So it sparks my interest and they encourage me to read the books for my future students. I love your UDL & EL strategy, they align so well. I love the YouTube video so much, it's very engaging. 6y

Ryanne.H This is similar to a book I posted on my Litsy page, “The stinky man and other fairly stupid tales” anything fairytale or folklore is great with children. Great post! 6y
DrSpalding This looks like a fun read. Readers theater sounds like a good choice. Lovely summary and writing style. Well done. 6y
