Pickpick

This modern Fantasy (F) Small Mouse Big City by Simon Prescott has won as a book trust early year award. This is a book about a mouse living in the countryside who went to visit his friend in the city. While visiting his friend, he become very lonely when he was looking out at the scenery. Teaching strategy RA will work well with this book, because to short and straight to the point. I suggest kindergarten & 1st grade. https://youtu.be/eg3nt6kDXfE

Hervela.L This YouTube video allows students to hear the story out loud as a RA. A good activity to use with this book is to allow students to talk about a lonely day, and express how it made them feel. UDL 5.2 allow many ways for students to express themselves. ESOL strategy 4. Link lesson topic to students' prior knowledge. (edited) 6y
AmeliaS21 Your description matches the cover perfectly! You can tell the little mouse in the big city is overwhelmed. This book looks really cute! I‘ll have to add this to my list of books to read. 6y

juliette_kathleen I love the perspective this forces children to have. I really love that it forces children to really think about the idea that we never know how someone is feeling and that we should always speak kindly because we never know 6y
