Welcome to the Chapel House, the old oceanfront mansion where a group of close friends share their hopes and dreams . . . and where love is sometimes an unexpected guest. Heartfelt and deeply moving, Private Relations won the 1989 RITA award for Best Single Title Contemporary Novel from the Romance Writers of America.

Mehso-so

Well, I think I only have two books left of Chamberlain‘s backlog to read! I‘m actually surprised that it‘s taken me this long to finally read her debut novel… though it‘s probably my least favorite of her books! Written in 1989, my edition does have an updated epilogue which is fun to see, but I really couldn‘t connect with these found family characters and their over-the-top soap opera lives! It kept my attention, but not without eye-rolling!

Pickpick

It was her first book and, as I expected, not her best offering. However, I still have to rate it a pick because there isn't anything between so-so and pick. I am glad I read it. It is sweet and extremely easy to read, which is what I needed after two 1,100+ page books.
