All Star Batman Vol. 1: My Own Worst Enemy (Rebirth)
All Star Batman Vol. 1: My Own Worst Enemy (Rebirth) | Scott Snyder
4 posts | 4 read | 2 to read
From the #1 New York Times best-selling author of BATMAN, Scott Snyder, comes his newest Dark Knight project as a part of DC Universe Rebirth, ALL-STAR BATMAN VOL. 1: MY OWN WORST ENEMY! Snyder is one of the most critically acclaimed authors in the comics world, with titles that include the genre-defining BATMAN VOL. 1: THE COURT OF OWLS, as well as BATMAN: BLACK MIRROR and AMERICAN VAMPIRE. But this time, he teams with Eisner Award-winning illustrator and comics legend John Romita Jr. (Avengers, THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS: THE LAST CRUSADE) and critically acclaimed artist Declan Shalvey (Moon Knight)! In this new graphic novel, Batman finds himself trying to help old friend Harvey Dent...now known as the villainous Two-Face! The Dark Knight accompanies his foe on a cross-country trip to fix his scarred face and hopefully end the Two-Face identity forever. But when the former Gotham City D.A. sets a plan into motion to free himself, the road gets bumpy and every assassin, bounty hunter and ordinary citizen with something to hide comes out in force with one goal: kill Batman! Handcuffed together on the road to Bat-hell, this is Batman and Two-Face as you've never seen them before! Following the success of COURT OF OWLS, DEATH OF THE FAMILY and ENDGAME, ALL-STAR BATMAN VOL. 1: MY OWN WORST ENEMY is the industry-shaking graphic novel for the Dark Knight, with one of the biggest creative pairings in DC Comics history sharing their take on one of the greatest heroes ever in ALL-STAR BATMAN VOL. 1! Collects issues #1-5.

Batman + Cajun mushroom risotto.

I feel like Batman is a huge part of my life because I imprinted on Adam West‘s version when I was 8, but I‘ve read relatively few Batman comics. When I dip into the bat family, I mostly go for Batgirl or Batwoman because they seem less continuity-focused. (Also, they‘ve got queer content.) Batman ranked high on EW‘s Best Comics of the Decade, though, so I figure it‘s about time I explored.

alisiakae I remember watching reruns of West‘s Batman on TV when I was a kid. That was the first version of Batman I ever saw too! 4y
xicanti @4thhouseontheleft my best friend and I were obsessed! We used to rush to her house after school to catch the opening, then mimic the show nonstop. 4y
UwannaPublishme I loved the old Batman series, too. They had such great guest stars as villains. Julie Newmar‘s Catwoman was the best. I also read both memoirs of the duo. Adam‘s was much better than Burt‘s. 4y
xicanti @UwannaPublishme just thinking about it makes me want to see if my library has it so I can watch it again. 4y

I'm standing in solidarity with Robert Pattinson as the new casting choice by eating Batman cookies today. 🍪🦇🍪

😜

I say give the dude a chance. 🤷‍♂️

readordierachel I actually really like him as an actor. He's made some good choices since Twilight 👍🏼 5y
Zelma I didn‘t realize that was the bat symbol until reading your post. It looks like a disgruntled face to me. 😆 5y

Bookishlie Uggggg. I will withhold judgement. I didn‘t think Michael Keaton would be good either and I was so wrong about that...... 5y
Reggie Lol, @Zelma I thought the same thing at first. 5y
vivastory I completely second @readordierachel I feel like he's a better actor than people give him credit for 5y
readordierachel @vivastory He gets a bad rap for sure. High Life and The Rover are both kinda awesome. 5y
sprainedbrain I‘m excited! He‘s a great actor, Twilight be damned. 😃 5y
KtheBookwyrm I love Robert Pattinson! Can‘t blame him for Twilight, from what I understand he‘s not a fan either, was just a dude looking for work. I‘ve seen him in other roles and he‘s a talented actor. 5y
