This book is perfect for young readers because it teaches the importance of being yourself! This is a humorous fiction book that is apart of the FL Sunshine State Young Reader award master list. This book would be great for a RA. https://wala.memberclicks.net/assets/Book_Award/WCCPBA/Rot%20the%20Cutest%20in%2...

KarliCrean The UDL principal 2.4 promote understanding and EL 34 have students work together goes well with the website of the lesson plan i found because it will have the students be creative together and fully understand what they read in the book! #UCFLAE3414SP20 (edited) 4y
DrSpalding Several of you read this book! Remember that when the word I is written it is always capitalized! Nice universal design and English learner alignment. 4y

This humorous F book is perfect for young readers. Teaches the importance of being yourself. This is perfect for a RA. Part of the FL SUNSHINE state young readers award master list. this website provides a lesson plan for a story map. This coincides with UDL 2.4 as it pertains to promoting understanding. It also works with ESOL #32 if you have students working in groups. #ucflae3414sp20

DrSpalding A story map graphic organizer assists student comprehension. I did not know this was on the sunshine state reader award list. Good choice! 4y

Rot The Cutest in the World by Ben Clanton is a great read aloud for younger grades. It is about a potato who wants to enter the cutest in the world contest but slowly because insecure about the way he looks. This book is great to promote confidence and be happy with who you are. A great activity for this story can be found at https://www.wla.org/assets/Book_Award/WCCPBA/Rot%20the%20Cutest%20in%20the%20Wor....

BRaulerson The UDL guideline I would use is Highlight patterns, critical features, big ideas, and relationships. This is a great book to make charts with and talk about main ideas of the story and actions in it. The ESOL Strategy I would use is provide contextual support through audio visuals, models, demonstrations, body language and facial expressions. The actions Rot made could be acted out to help support the ESOL learners. #UCFLAE3414F19 (edited) 4y
DrSpalding What a great book to read aloud prior to a performance or even a presentation! Again excellent alignment. I like the idea of a dramatic reenactment to assist English learners. 4y

Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays: I love that the world is just starting to warm up & grow, I love the flowers, the bright & pastel colors; I love Cadbury mini eggs & jelly beans (but never Peeps 🤢). When I was a kid, my mom made “bunny prints” with her slippers & baby powder leading up to my bed to show that the Bunny had checked on me. I even love the Vigil: the Latin, the candlelight.

Happy day to those celebrating! 🐰🌷🎉
