Winter in Ireland
Winter in Ireland | Pamela M. Kelley
5 posts | 5 read | 1 to read
Romance writer Jennifer Graham heads to Dublin for a two month research trip, and to heal from a recent breakup. The last thing she is looking for is romance, especially with another workaholic...and then she meets Ian Shephard. He's the son of her best friend's Irish Aunt, the one she is staying with while she's in Ireland. He's staying there too, temporarily while his condo is being renovated. Their attraction is immediate and unexpected. But dating Ian would be a very bad idea, for three very good reasons. He's not looking for a relationship, he is a workaholic and he lives in another country.... So, they'll just be friends.....that's the plan anyway.

This was not good. Pretty poorly written. I did read the whole book so it‘s not unreadable, just comparatively not good when you read a lot of romance. #lmpbc @Roary47
I‘ll try to get it in the mail in the next few days!

3⭐️ I found it really hard to rate this book because the writing style was really lacking for me, but the love story was actually really cute. Truthfully it kind of reminded me a little bit of the Holiday movie, but still with its own little twist. What really bugged me was that the story doesn‘t seem to flow at all. For lack of a better word, it felt very choppy.

Roary47 I felt the same way. 😢 2y

I‘m not sure if it‘s just this author or if it‘s the contemporary “sweet romance” sub genre that doesn‘t work for me, but I did not enjoy this. The writing felt clunky and cold, and there was no sense of place. It could have been set anywhere and definitely didn‘t feel like it was set in Ireland. But, at least I finished a book and met one reading obligation this month, so I‘ll take that as a win.

LeahBergen What do you mean, “not set in Ireland?” But look at their sweaters! 🤣🤣 2y
DGRachel @LeahBergen 🤣🤣 That comment was better than the whole book. 🤣🤣 2y
vivastory After reading your review, I thought to myself I wonder if one of the main characters is named Liam or Ian. Then I read the description. Irish Bingo! 2y

I‘m sorry this took me so long to finish #LMPBC #GroupF. 3✨I wasn‘t too sure of the romance through the story. I had some issues with it being slow periodically, but how it wrapped up was what I was hoping for. I‘m not going to call this a Christmas read, but it is on my TBR for #WinterGames2021 #TeamGameSleighers and I found #WGWordSearch 7*10+15+1=86

BethM Did you get the book I sent? @Littlewolf1 I haven‘t received yours yet. 2y
