I liked how this book had cut outs through out it, it made it more fun to look at and read.

“First the chicken then the egg!”

I liked how the beginning of the book has the egg first and then the chicken and at the end of the book it‘s the opposite because this is still a mystery to me which comes first.

This book teaches children about how things grow and in what order things come in. It also has some humor in the question of did the egg or the chicken come first?

This book was so simple, but so intriguing. I loved the cut outs and illustrations. I would love to have this book in my classroom someday.

First the Egg by Laura Vaccaro Seeger was written in 2007 and is a Caldecott Honor book. This book would be so fun for children because of the interactive cut outs in the pages. It is also a good resource to teach children about the succession of things in a fun and enjoyable way for them. This book was very simple, but at the same time very intriguing. A lot of thought had to have gone into the cut outs and layout.

This Caldecott Honor and Theodor Sues Geisel Honor book is a great informational text for young readers and ELS.
The text is simple and the illustrations are detailed and colorful. It shows the pattern of before this, there was this.

This 2008 Geisel Award Winning NF book by Laura Vaccaro Seeger is great for a RA. It is a great book for students to learn where things came from and what they will become. It is a great book to teach sequencing and
http://wiseowlcathy.blogspot.com/2017/04/first-the-egg-sequencing-mentor-texts-C... is a great resource to extend on. EL 44 which deals with thinkong skills, in this case sequence, and UDL 3.2 which highlights patterns and

alyssahp big ideas, are both met in regards to this resource. The resource not only has a sequence activity, but also has an audio RA which is great to use as well. #ucflae3414f17 2y
Jbombardiere I‘m glad you incorporated an audio read aloud to go with the assignment, it‘s always nice to have that option as well! 2y
DrSpalding Audiobooks are excellent for all students especially emergent readers. Second language learners, visually impaired and below level readers benefit from this option. 2y
