Meanies is an amazing picture book by Joy Cowley and illustrated by Deirdre Gardiner. This book would be great as a read aloud and talks about the characteristics of a meanie. This book could be used as a lead in to talking about bullying which is something that many students face. # UCFLAE 3414F17 https://i.pinimg.com/originals/05/dc/58/05dc580b4eb7393e247ffc527b9ca4e3.jpg links to a craft idea for creating a meanie.

laurie_jayy UDL 9.3 “Develop self-assessment and reflection” goes great with this book because students can ask themselves if their meanies and think about different times that someone has been mean to them.
EL 14. “Simplify your speech by making it slower and redundant” is a great strategy to use for this book because the book is already redundant. 6y
