So my nearly 7 year old daughter has this weird obsession with the Titanic (and, no, she hasn't seen the movie!) As yesterday was the anniversary of its sinking I got her this book that she's been after for a while. We have others in the DK Eyewitness range and they are all excellent. Lots of information, lots of photos/diagrams, time-lines, glossaries and a fully illustrated poster as well! This one went down a treat ... sorry, no pun intended ..

peanutnine So cool! I was obsessed with the Titanic when I was her age too! My favorite book in 3rd grade about the Titanic sparked my interest in historical fiction 3y
AlaMich I love those DK books and I was slightly obsessed with the Titanic as an older kid. 🚢 3y
bibliobliss I've loved learning about the Titanic since I was a child and I'm still obsessed with the Titanic as an adult. I know your daughter will love this book, I know that I would!! 💗😍 3y

Scochrane26 I had a phase when I was younger where I was interested in the Titanic. I remember looking at my dad‘s National Geographic when they had pics of the wreckage. I didn‘t know until I was an adult that those pics were the first time they had found the wreckage. (1985?) 3y
rubyslippersreads @bibliobliss I‘m still obsessed with the Titanic too. 3y

When I was little my sister and I were obsessed with the Titanic. This non-fiction book would be great to use as a read aloud in class. It is all about the history and artifacts found from the Titanic! Since it is NF it would go along with a history lesson. http://www.scholastic.com/browse/lessonplan.jsp?id=198 I would use this activity for the students along with the book. They would use the book to collect information for their assignment!

MakennaK I would use UDL 6.3, facilitate managing I formation and resources, since the students will be doing research with this book and topic. I will use ED 16, integrate speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities, since we will be using all of these in the lesson. 7y
Teresaj This looks really cool! Definitely want to read this. 7y
