There seemed to be big chunks missing. Maybe it would make more sense if you read all the tie ins. Maybe not. Doom is the ruler on the planet because he basically saved everyone there from the incursions. Obviously this upsets some people, so they "save" the world and somehow they reset Earth 616. So Hickman's run on the New Avengers and Avengers was all for nothing.

This book was bonkers! When the multi-verse collapses in on itself, every reality is destroyed...or is it? Dr frickin Doom saves all that's left of reality, sets himself up as god, and actually does a really good job. Of course Thanos, Reed Richards, and Black Panther with an INFINITY GAUNTLET, show up to "fix" things. Doom has an army of Thors, Apocalypse and his horsemen, and Galactus! This has crazy battles and a great Sci-fi plot! I loved it!

My über-specific comics subgenre of choice is Comics In Which There Are Burger Jokes. I always, always laugh at them, even when they're not very good. #comics

I‘m a sucker for SECRET WARS. Worlds are destroyed, culminating in a patchwork union of the classic MARVEL Universe and the Ultimate. These characters find themselves in an alternate reality, where Doom is God. The resistance builds lead by both versions of Reed Richards. This has some fun moments, my favorite seeing Peter Parker and Miles Morales hang out and discuss being Spider-Man, however, the story suffers from being too complicated.

I call this a "pick" though I was lost through much of the plot. Either my familiarity with the Marvel isn't up to snuff or I was missing a great deal of the prelude. Still, many of the images and premises are jaw-dropping.
