This was a good reminder to always remember to check what language a book is before borrowing it from the library. When I opened the book, I found out that this was in Danish and not Norwegian.

This is about a boy that spends a Christmas with his dad. This didn‘t make much of an impression on me and I‘m already starting to forget it.

Passed by the library today and totally forgot I wanted to pick this up. I see a lot of Joel from Other Voices, Other Rooms in Buddy and this experience seems straight out of the beginning of that book. I decided to buy the 3 story collection too. 💜 #LoveTruman

I tracked down a copy of this movie after reading the book last week. I‘m a big fan of Truman, and although this didn‘t really stick to the story, it‘s still worth watching.

I lucked out and found this for free on openlibrary.org — it‘s a quick read and I just found out it was also made into a movie in 1994, so it‘s on my watch list! Truman tells the story of spending Christmas with his estranged father in New Orleans when he was 6. It‘s bittersweet and heartbreaking. A quick glimpse into the life of this fascinating man. 5⭐️

In this short story, Truman's writing skills really shine through. It is so well written and engrossing, I wish it were longer. This tells the story of one Christmas when Truman was a child, and was forced to leave his extended family in Alabama and spend Christmas with his estranged father. Truly heartbreaking, you can't help but feel sorry for Truman and see where he acquired some of his demons in life. Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
