I would used this book in my classroom because it could spark interest in one of the children and further create questions about bees that I could use to incorporate in my lesson plans.

UnBEElievables: Honeybee Poems and Paintings written by Douglas Florian. This is a book full of poems that are very informative about honeybees, and included below the poems are description boxes full of facts that are written in the poem. These description boxes reinforce the meaning of the poem by describing what the poem means and the facts it includes.

The colors of this book were not too overwhelming to look at. I enjoyed this book and its illustrations. This book could be useful if we are learning about bees and maybe getting to observe some in my classroom, considering the whole book is poems about bees! I will definitely find a way to use this in my classroom.

I loved how each poem in this book was about bees and what bees do. I thought it was very cool that there were facts about bees on the bottom of each page, and I loved the illustrations.

I loved how the illustrations were very detailed with paint but almost kid-like and how each page was a different color. This made the book welcoming to read and more fun to read as well.

I liked this book of poems about bees, bee hives, bees jobs, what bees do and how they live. I really liked how at the bottom of the each page after the poem, there are facts about that specific poem. These poems also incorporated rhyming which is always fun for children to listen to and learn.

This book is one I will definitely come back to when i have a classroom. It is wonderfully enjoyable and has important information as well. I love that the illustrations look like a child did them! Great book!

I loved this book! Published in 2012 this whole poetry book is about bees. I love that it pairs poems with true facts about bees. Bees are one of my favorite creatures and they are SO important to our existence. I think it is super important to teach kids about bees. This poetry book makes it fun and interesting while incorporating true facts in with fun poems.

(2012) The collection of poems about bees starts out with a “Welcome!” poem, inviting you to join the hive. That welcome poem used a lot of words to rhyme with hive through each line of the poem like: thrive, dive, arrive, strive, and alive. While another poem, like “Summer Hummer” used different words to rhyme every other line. Other poems just used interesting language and words that had similar spellings, with lots of rhythm, but didn‘t rhyme.

from the poem “Waggle Dance”: “we dance. we prance. we waggle. we wiggle.” I love the use of words in this poem and I think kids would have a lot of fun with it‘s silliness.

It was really cool how the author included facts about bees relating to the poem. Some were about bee anatomy and queen bees.

“Bee-have in your hive! Hey, Drone! Don‘t Moan! Don‘t Groan! And don‘t Jive!”

I thought this was a really cute educational story. I would definitely utilize this for a classroom science pick.

This 2012 collection of poems have a great rhythm. I love poems that rhyme, and have predictable sound patterns. These poems are educational and still fun for children to read. Overall I think this is a great classroom pick.

I love poetry for kids. A book all about bees. Great artwork too.
