I think series books are important to have in the classroom and encourage reading. Kids fall in love with these characters and want to read more and more books about them.
pick“I'm a Frog! (An Elephant and Piggie Book)“ by Mo Willems, 2007. Picture Book. I love the Piggie and Gerald books and think they're a great series. This is very similar to other books from this series through the usage of large text, the characters jumping all over the page, and the exciting tone.
Our last minute book character day costume because I completely forgot we signed the paper saying she'd dress up for it with her selection of Gerald. Thank gawd for construction paper, safety pins, and hot glue. 😅 She likes it and that's what matters. Thankfully. Ha!

pickThis modern fantasy (F) would be awesome for a choral reading (CR). The book is basically dialog between an elephant and a pig. I think kids would have a lot of fun reading this book with a partner. One would be the pig and one would be the elephant.
UDL: This principle would work when students would be engaged to choral reading 7.3- Minimize threats and distractions

pickI'm biased. I love Elephant & Piggie! They're just so cute and I giggle more then I probably should for something that has at most five words a page.
(Pretend, that's what grown-up people do.)
