The Unstoppable Wasp Vol. 1
The Unstoppable Wasp Vol. 1: Unstoppable! | Jeremy Whitley
Collects The Unstoppable Wasp #1-4; All-New, All-Different Avengers #14. Nadia spent the entire first half of her life a captive of the Red Room, but now this teenage super scientist is spreading her wings! Hank Pym's daughter has a lot of time to make up for, and she's determined to change the world. With Jarvis at her side, she's on a mission to bring together the brightest girl geniuses of the Marvel Universe - starting with Lunella Lafayette, the miraculous Moon Girl! But Nadia didn't count on evil scientists, man-eating giant rats or Devil Dinosaur - or the lethal lady wrestlers known as the Grapplers! And even as Nadia's recruiting drive continues, the Red Room is on her trail - and they'll pull out all the stops to get her back! Can the geniuses of G.I.R.L. find a way to save Nadia from being dragged back to the bunker?

Restarting this comic for my first read of 2020, and it was delightful. (The Durham reference was hilarious, especially if you know what that statue looks like.) I am nervous about the disability rep, but I trust Jeremy Whitley enough to pick up the next volume and see where it goes.

I think this is one of my favorite revamps of a Marvel character. Hank Pym's daughter escapes the Red Room and is trying to make a team of female scientists. I especially liked how they highlighted real life female scientists at the end.

I love squirrel girl. Heres a woman who is kind to everyone and just seems like someone who would be awesome to hang out with. Now after reading this book I feel she may have a soul mate in Nadia who is even more optimistic than possibly squirrel girl. Her naivety makes her quite charming and in this book we see her getting adjusted to Manhattan. A strong supporting cast helps to. For fans of hellcat, spider woman, mockingbird and squirrel girl 😁

Another day, another disappointing discovery that Marvel has canceled yet another diverse comic before it even had a chance to get going. 😠 This is an amazing series (written by the author of !) and features Nadia, Hank Pym's lost daughter, who is a genius scientist and wants to form a lab of other genius girls. ALL THE STEM. ALL THE SCIENCE. ALL THE WOMEN IN STEM. Even interviews real life women in stem at the end. *sigh*

silentrequiem This one hurt, even more than Mockingbird, because I was actively reading this as the issues were released. I adored this series. 7y

I think every storyline should include a stop at the super hero diner.

Day 10 of #Riotgrams: Comics. I rarely buy single issues, but I heard so many good things about THE UNSTOPPABLE WASP that I had to make an exception.

Omg I just found my new favorite comic! My eyeballs are just hearts shooting in all directions. Hilarious, with an amazing MC, guest-starrers, and I can't wait for all her adventures and stories. Must-read!

abbiereadsbooks Ahhh I need to check that out!!! 7y
mandapants :( just tried putting it on hold at the library. It is not in the system. 7y
Matilda @mandapants it's new and only the first two issues are out. If your library only gets the volumes it'll be a while. If not ask if you can request the issues. 7y
