In each chapter of this book, the author evokes the relationship between exotic animals and a powerful person. Each chapter can be read separately, so it's a book you can read in bits ;)
The author, in 50 pages or so, sets the decor, the historical context in such a way that it is easy for any reader to understand the context and to enjoy the (hi)story.
Very well-written, interesting, informative, just my type of books 📚

#TBRtemptation post 1! Spanning millennia, this niche history lesson will show you how animals have played a large role in diplomacy, war, and politics. Lions, tigers, bears (oh my!), giraffes, kangaroos, dodos, elephants, all manner of birds, etc. From Alexander the Great to pandas Hsing-Hsing and Ling-Ling. Be prepared to gain all kinds of facts which you may very well have never known. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
