In the newest mystery from the New York Times bestselling author of Sweet Tea Revenge, Indigo Tea Shop owner Theodosia Browning is about to learn the true meaning of terroir Theodosia Browning has never considered herself a wine connoisseurtea has always been her forte. But that doesnt mean shes going to pass up an invitation to a fancy wine-tasting party at the upscale Knighthall Winery, just outside of Charleston, South Carolina. But a sweet evening takes on a bitter aftertaste when a dead body is discovered in one of the wine barrels. The son of proprietor Jordan Knight has been murdered. Dissatisfied with the police investigation, Knight turns to Theo for help. Shes heard through the grapevine that there are both family and business problems at Knighthall. They say in vino veritas, but everyone at the winery seems to be lying through their teeth. Sorting through the guest list as well as family and staff, Theo has her pick of suspects. It may look like the killer has her over a barrel, but cracking tough cases is vintage Theodosia Browning.

Pickpick

I love the characters and tea shop in this series. I did figure out the “who done it and why”. I think the author commits the faux pas of having so many customers being overly complimentary to main character and her shop, just for her to be humble or so the author can describe something with dialogue instead of just describing it. But do want to return and read the next one.

Mehso-so

Much as I‘ve enjoyed other books from this series, this one just didn‘t do anything for me. It was just too formulaic. It involves a murder at a winery, and I thought, tea and wine, what‘s not to like? But it just didn‘t cut it, and even the recipes didn‘t inspire me this time.

We stopped at Panera after walking a couple miles on the fitness trail at our regional park. Too hot and thirsty for coffee, so enjoyed plum ginger hibiscus ice tea while we split a bagel. Of course I had a library book with me 😄

BlameJennyJane This one does look good! I like the author‘s scrapbook mystery series and I‘m really looking forward to diving into this one! 😊 5y

A small #libraryhaul this morning, but a library experience unlike any other. Four deputies arrested a young man sitting at the table behind hubby. Pat down, handcuffs, the works. They were relatively quiet and didn‘t cause a disturbance. In fact, hubby didn‘t know anything about what happened literally four feet behind him until I told him on the way out😂 The man has excellent powers of concentration!

ValerieAndBooks Wow hope it wasn‘t because he had a couple overdue books 😬. Maybe just being a “public nuisance “? 5y
Lynnsoprano @ValerieAndBooks The bit I caught sounded as if he had been harassing a woman in the library and something about pulling hair. I was impressed by how calmly and quietly the officers accomplished the arrest. (edited) 5y
ValerieAndBooks Yikes, but glad they were able to keep it quiet enough so that library patrons weren‘t disturbed (including your husband 😊) 5y

(More of the Level 4 book bundles, by the way.) This may be the best book-prize available for this year's #SummerReadingProgram: 18 of the 19 installments in Laura Childs's very popular A Tea Shop Mystery cozy mystery series! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 (The latest installment is the one not included, and it just came out in late March.) Pretty darn cool.

Would you consider choosing this as your Level 4 prize?

First Laura Childs book. Looks good! Any fans of the series out there? 😁

Lreads It's one of my favorite cozy mystery series. It's slower paced but I find it comforting. 7y
JDMagnus @ReadsWithTea It's fantastic! I bought three more books of this series! 😁 7y
