2 posts | 1 read
In Tahiti, it's a well-known fact that women are wisest, mothers know best, and Materena Mahi knows best of all--or so everyone except for her own daughter thinks. Soon enough, mother and daughter are engaged in a tug-of-war that tests the bonds of their love.

This was a nice, entertaining read about the relationship between a mother and daughter. As a mom of two girls, I can appreciate that! It‘s also a celebration of women. I also learned some things about Tahitian culture!

#bookspinbingo - this is my #doublespin for this month…just under the wire!

Day 27 #JuneBookBugs #setinsouthernhemisphere Here are nine books from my stacks that are set in the Southern Hemisphere in Africa (South Africa, Namibia & Rwanda) Australia, Chile, Tahiti, an unnamed South American country (Bel Canto), & an unnamed coral atoll (The Last Good Paradise). I've read all but Bel Canto which never seems to get to the top of my #TBR 📚

LiteraryinLawrence Bel Canto is the same for me! It's one of my sister @BennettBookworm 's favorites, so I feel bad that I haven't read it yet. This summer, it will happen! 7y
