Another solid installment in this epic fantasy series. Though full of action, it still has that middle book feel where nothing is fully resolved. Still enjoyable overall. 4⭐️

Book mail.
The Broken Binding subscription. Book two in this series.
The book has blue block sprayed edges that match the cover. Signed by the author and numbered. Bookmark and fancy end papers with foil on the hardcover.
Chunky book! I look forward to reading this trilogy.
BOOKS I READ IN MAY
I only managed to read two books. I've had so much work lately and was stressed quite a lot and therefore wasn't in the mood to read. I hope it gets better during the summer as I really miss reading a lot!
Unfortunately I didn't enjoy reading this book much. It might be the fact that I waited too long after the first part - Shadow of What Was Lost - and forgot most of the plot. Throughout the book I had no idea what was happening most of the time, who is who, who did what thousands of years ago and how that influenced the present that is equally as complicated.
Great second book. Recommend for any epic fantasy lovers. Prepared to be lost at times as flashbacks jump you all around through time, but by the end you get a lot of answers toward the overall mythology. Look forward to finishing the trilogy.
I just love these books. The Audible narrator is wonderful, I love his deep, gravelly voice.
A story with immortals, people who wield magic called essence and kan and gods.
There is a battle of wills between individuals on both sides who believe wholeheartedly they are on the side of good and right.

If you are a fan of epic fantasy, this series is a must-read in my opinion. Finished re-reading this earlier this month. Still such a phenomenal book and series up to this point. Hope to begin reading the next book in the series soon, being the only one I haven't read previously. An Echo of Things to Come does a great job of fleshing out more of the historical events, and in further developing a great cast of characters.
Been up since 3am unable to sleep, so I'm audiopuzzling because I don't have the brain power to read at the moment.
I've been re-reading this book as I work up to reading the most recent in the series. Really can't say enough good things about this series. The author does a fantastic job at world-building, and really getting across the feeling of history for the world.
Spotted a rare sighting this evening. Hubby is actually reading 😱
Send noods. 😝
Alright #24in48 it's on like Donkey Kong. Time to hunker down and put a serious friggen dent in this chunkster!
Its -26°C outside right now so the blankets are out, the fire is lit, and the chair is pulled up nice and close!
Hello, rest of my night. 😍
I ❤️ Monday nights.
I was originally going to wait a little while to read this 2nd book in the trilogy. The thing is...after finishing the first book I haven't been able to stop thinking about the story. ?
Sometimes a book just knows when it's supposed to be read, I guess. ?
"The wand chooses the wizard, Mr. Potter." ?♂️
4.5 stars. This is a solid fantasy series! It took me longer to get into this second book, because there was a bit of an info dump in the beginning. This novel had great character development, as well as a better understanding of the world.
I very much recommend this series to #fantasy fans. It's a bit like Wheel of Time and a lot of fun! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I've loved the first book so much, so I'm excited to pick this one up! Having a quiet weekend with books #weekendread
