Monster | Michael Grant
Acclaimed author Michael Grant delivers a stunning follow-up to the globally bestselling Gone series--perfect for fans of Stephen King's suspenseful writing. It's been four years since a meteor hit Perdido Beach and everyone disappeared. Everyone, except the kids trapped in the FAYZ--an invisible dome that was created by an alien virus. Inside the FAYZ, animals began to mutate and teens developed dangerous powers. The terrifying new world was plagued with hunger, lies, and fear of the unknown. Now the dome is gone and meteors are hitting earth with an even deadlier virus. Humans will mutate into monsters and the whole world will be exposed. As some teens begin to morph into heroes, they will find that others have become dangerously out of control...and that the world is on the brink of a monstrous battle between good and evil. Praise for the Gone Series: "Exciting, high-tension stories. I love these books." --Stephen King "Intense, marvelously plotted, paced, and characterized..." --ALA Booklist (starred review)

I read this in about three sittings. Just absorbed it. If you‘re wondering, it‘s not as good as the GONE series, but it is a blast! 😊

I don‘t know what to read next! I‘ve narrowed it down to these five. Any suggestions? (I know the picture cropped that Kendare Blake is the author of Antigoddess 😆)

Nessavamusic The Cruel Prince is great! 4y
MollyLooby @Nessavamusic I‘ve heard loads of great things about it 😊 4y

Really loved delving back into the world of the FAYZ and seeing a world changed. Fast paced imaginative writing is what I've come to expect from Michael Grant and he doesn't disappoint. Ready for the next book!

Mommamanzi Would you say you have to read the whole series to understand what‘s going on in this book? 5y
JessicaLynn I think you could maybe follow along okay but I really don't think you'll get nearly as much from it if you don't read the others first. There are a lot of new characters and only a few from the original books but the originals are referenced heavily in the new books and will make more sense if you know what happened before. 5y

I tried to read this series when it first came out but it was long, slow, and similar to Witch and Wizard by Patterson at the time but the cover of the. West books makes me think I may pick this series back up off my DNF pile and try it again. #coverlove #YAedition

Bookzombie I read the first book in the Gone series but never felt motivated to read more. 🤔 7y
LibrarianRyan @Bookzombie my good reads account said I read it but I know I didn't finish it. 7y
